Glad to hear they're working out for you. Have you received any surprise comments from anyone that your using a Stewart kit? After all, it's not everyday you see an MIJ on-stage.

You know, we're going to need some updated pics of this kit in playing form!

We were speaking of resonance, so I bought a set of those Pearl Air Suspension Feet for my floor tom. Basically, they are big rubber feet that soaks up the resonance instead of the floor. I was skeptical, but they do absolutely make a difference. The tom really rings nice and smooth with a much slower decay. Well worth it. I'll have to buy another set for the other floor tom.

I'm also debating getting a suspension system for the rack tom. When I hit the tom while held loosely in my hand, the tom rings beautifully, however when I mount it, it definitely loses resonance. These suspension systems are interesting for sure and look like they would work. I'm just not sure how they will hook up to my mount. The Gibralter system seems like it might work for me and the price looks good to. Anyone have any experience with them? Maybe I'll post pics of my tom mount and somebody can tell me if it will work.

Jim, I use product called Booty Shakers. These are basically foam rubber flotation devices that attach to the ends of snare/tom stands that allow the rack tom to ring clearly and not choke. They're cheap and they work.

My rack tom is attached to the bass drum, not on a snare stand, so I don't think those Booty Shakers would work for my rack tom.

I posted pics below of my rack tom attachment, and when I look at those suspension devices, I'm failing to see how they would attach to my hardware. I understand they attach to the hoop, but they also have to attach to the hardware, but how? Anyone have experience with these?

OK, I thought you had the rack tom on a stand. The Booty Shakers won't work if the tom is attached to the rail mount. You are inhibiting the resonance of your tom using that, as you know. You could go with a suspension mount and hang the tom from a cymbal stand, or a snare stand with Booty Shakers. Both will greatly improve the sound of the drum.
