Default 1920's Ludwig snare?

I bought this dirty little gal 25 years ago just the way you see it. Never cleaned it up. I just pulled it out of my shop were it has been sitting.

The shell has, for lack of a better word, "crimped" spots on the bottom of the shell for the snare bed.

I can't figure out if the label/badge is engraved, stamped or some type of ink. It's smooth when you run your finger over it.

From the info that I have gathered from this wonderful site I'm thinking it's form the 20's.

Maybe someone can shed some light.

Thanks

Magnet does not stick to shell. I'm pretty sure it's brass, I guess there were some nickel over brass too.

10 tube lugs

I would say late 20's
Nickle over brass.
10 lugs usually Higher end drum.
All around model?
Not in great shape unfortunately and no strainer.
not an expert just an observational guess.

I pegged mine at 1923-ish, nickle over brass. It looks similar. If I remember right mine says "Ludwig Universal" on the top rim if you look really close.

I have one that looks similar, but doesn't have the Ludwig stamp on the shell. Mine just has "Ludwig Universal" lightly engraved on the top rim.
Nickle over brass, I pegged mine at 1923-ish, yours is around the same time, maybe a little newer.

Thanks for all of the comments. I found pics of one online and was listed as a 1930, same drum but only had 8 tube lugs.

Yes I was thinking the same, 10 tube lugs an upgraded model.

I'm thinking these photos of this strainer and butt plate is what I would need. I've seen a new strainer on this type of shell so that might work too as well as a newer butt plate.

I'm keeping it for now! I'm going to try and find original parts but if it turns out to be a pain I know I can find every thing new.
