Way over priced!!

I laughed at this statement in his listing:

I do not need to sell, nor do I really want to sell this snare, but I am offering a chance for someone else to own it as I have 30 snares, and I have 4 of these, this is by far the best, of the ones I have. Better act quick, before I change my mind and pull the ad!

He don`t have to worry about selling it at this price!!

It looks to me like that may be lube for the tension rod in that pic of the lug. I've run across plenty of that if in fact that's what it is.
