Also, that 30’s kit was tuned way too low for my tastes. When they panned back to the audience near the kit, you could literally see wrinkles in the tom head.

I thought the show was interesting in concept, a little less so in performance. I really thought his best shtick was the dialects across the country. He went well beyond the standard “Pock the cah.”

It's Armisen... dry, intelligent, creative humor. Just enough belly laughs sprinkled in to make it worth watching. I fell out of my chair when he did the decomposing fox. I loved the old drum kits and Fred is a more than decent drummer. I'm a drummer, the act was meant for guys like me who love drums and on that level it worked.

I guess that kind of points to my slight... and I say slight, disappointment. The decomposing fox and accents around the world bits didn’t really have anything to do with the “drummers” theme. The play reading bit just missed... IMHO.

I think he could have expanded the drum shop stuff and the rituals you see people going through in drum shops. The picking cymbals and the giant pedal bits were funny... there is a lot that goes on in drum shop... big box vs small owner sales. His take on that would be funny

I loved the walk through the vintage kits but I agree with the comment it could have been expanded with both humor... like maybe a classic joke from each era with Fred’s delivery that would be fun to watch... and with playing. The guys had great chops! Fun to watch. Good stuff... as was said.. “when is the last time you saw a special dedicated to drumming”

That special is what made me want to start drums again.

I was really excited to see this. I suppose I expected too much because well, that was pretty horrible. I'm a guy that loves comedy and can find humor in just about anything.. there was only a time or two during this that I let out a bit of a giggle. I kept waiting for it to get funny, but it never did for me. It was an hour or so of one liners that seemed to jump around from topic to topic.. and it just wasn't funny.

Well, the accent bit was fantastic. The drumming, not so much..
