Re: I have come to say goodbye to my drum brothers
Jerry: that was a very touching and eloquent good-bye. While I've not had the pleasure of meeting you, our drum brotherhood is strong. May God bless you with His peace that surpasses all understanding. May He give you the opportunity to sit in on The Great Jam Session beyond!
Hugh

Re: I have come to say goodbye to my drum brothers
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with eager feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say. Blessings and prayers.

Re: I have come to say goodbye to my drum brothers
Jerry, I never met you, but you touched my life.
A few years ago I bought some 70s special order Blaemire wrap through you to wrap a sixties Slingerland set.....the set was sold, but I wrapped a Kent tom shell from Backbeatkeeper with some of the leftover, and converted it to a snare drum. You've touched so many lives in this simple way, but most of all with the generous sharing of your knowledge and expertise. You are a Force, my friend ...... Peace to you..... I hope to meet you on the Other Side...!!! Kevin

Re: I have come to say goodbye to my drum brothers
Travel well Brother, you are loved and will be missed... I hopr you do not mind but here is a little bit of words that have meant so much to me in this life I hope they can also bring you some comfort...
Cheif Tecumseh going Home A UNITED STATES TREATY TRIBE Our WebPages are in Honor to Chief Tecumseh Cheif Tecumseh “Going Home” The Great Chief of the Shawnee Nation and Her People So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide. Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none. When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and nothing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision. When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home. Chief Tecumseh, Shawnee Nation |
