Good news! The leg going in straight I got unstuck with a rubber mallet as suggested.


Now working on the second one with the angled leg. Unfortunately there's not really any play at all so this one might require a bit more finesse.

While you have them apart... check for any burring around the hole of the angle piece... run a round file around the inside of the hole. Burring there affects the bite... they will slip, especially on a rocky riser..

This is good info, I have one push button leg on mine that slips I will check for burrs. I put a hose clamp on it for now that holds great, but does not allow me to shorten the leg very quickly when I want to put it in its case.
