Note to all: I am really looking to help you all. I can't even breath in there, so brokering a deal by simply being there is my goal. He has stuff from every era, and Leedy stuff, and the old Cadillac Green Nitron kit from the Radio City Music Hall is in his possesion. There was some what appear to beLeedy Wood Lugs? Just too much to process in my mind. You all may know the shop, but I don't want to flood them with calls because he might get the idea to raise, not lower his asking prices. Tell me what you want, I'll go look for it. He has a 64 red felt pioneer, WMP in need of a thourough cleaning, a blue spark Classic, date unknown to me, as I looked at it but did not look closely, a BS pioeer, man, tell me want you want, I

will go take pix! I love this stuff! Now I will tell you, some of his stuff is high, but it is what it is, old and hard to come by today, at least in the condition some of this is in. The Champ Spark in 20-12-14, oh my....

Also, Hey HotIron, he has a ton of stuff in your age range, PM me and tell me exactly what you want. I saw a couple of BDs with China toms mounted. Be warned, he ain't cheap, but he has it....

UPDATE, 1-16-10 4:20 PM CST

http://horntraderokc.com/photos/tour/index.html

OK, I just got off the phone with him, and he is NOT looking to sell, unless...

CD, orange he said they are gold...1200

Hollywood orange/gold 1500

Champaign 1500

Blue Rogers 1500

He also told me he has an almost NOS BDP Slingerland Leedy that was returned to him. The guy said he thought because of the condition they had to be re-wrapped, Scott just grinned and gave him his money, all the while shaking his head. They are not re-wrapped, and he seems to be the right kind of guy. So, if you want drums that are immaculate, and very worthy of the money, there you have it.

As far as if the snares are included, I did not ask, and did not see those particular matching colors. He has plenty of Supras to go with them. If you have further questions, he is there until 5:30 CST on Saturdays.

So, he said he really likes his collection, and this is what it would take. I thought he was a horn guy. None the less, they are impressive, and very nice.

Oh, and all 3 of the Luds are 60s stuff...It is one of thise dirty little places we love....but he knows what he has too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holy s--- he's got nice stuff!!! OK, deep breath in, deep breath out......

Yep, you definitely have a disease that requires treatment:

Symptoms include;

-lack of $$

-inability to focus on more than one restoration project at a time

-a deep love of primordial tone, particularly bass tones

-lack of $$

-dry skin, particularly on the finger-tips from excessive use of chrome polishes or 0000 steel wool.

-big smiles on the face of victims when tempted to succumb to Sonor's siren song.

-complete lack of $$

-disdain for most asian knock-offs

-obsessive trolling on ebay/Craig's list for "vinta..........

-the numbers 12,13,14,16,20,22 continually revolving in the thought processes, obscurring reason and logic

-Using Money Mart for pay advances to buy vintage drum stuff because of complete lack of $$

-Please add symptoms as you identify them...

"Help, I just found a 1963 ------- on ebay and may bid on...

OKC. It's at a drum shop. The only one I asked about, and I'm sure they just popped a high-ball on me, but it was the C.D. And it is scary, said 1200 just to get my reaction. I almost laughed, but they are sweet, and Orange. If you want me to get more info for you, I will go back up Saturday and get some pix. When I say this stuff is nice, man, it is sweet! I was in awe of the Champ, as it looked like the bass was in an original 60s packing bag, like that Supra on the 'Bay. That 20-12-14 just mesmerized me. They have a hundreds of old drums and kits. Let me know, I can't afford the stuff, but I also want to get in with the guy so I can get some work out of him, so helping to move some of this stuff might be a way in. I suspect, and I honestly did not move stuff around to get really good looks at it all, that it is all very close to collectors quality, so he may hold his line tight. I am not trying to make any money, I will assure you all of that, I want to make work for me. So, if you call the store and inquire about a Orange sparkle kit, you know, he is going to run the line. I want to get in good with this guy. He has almost anything you might want. There was a partial Ringo kit in pretty good condition as well, but I did not see the snare to it. I assume it was seperated years ago, nor did I see if they matched badges. Most of the Lud stuff was Keystone, some B/O rounded and pointy. Man, it was like I imagined walking into Mikey's dream.....
