Wish I had more experience with III's, II's, and I's.
But of course these are the 'big money" ones. I have had a 14" 793g which as a high hat top is exquisite in that---- you sound- it makes you sound like "1953" instantly inescapably. Lovely. But it's that "butterfly breath" sound (III's) II's and I's not familiar (at all with) Over at CH a member always had a II or I (big ones 20s etc) and they were as exotic as the price it took to acquire. But quite an era. III's. Sound era Primo. Can get trapped in "sounding old' but that fades ; ) away. But could happen some great old era Ks are tough to mix with say a "cool jazz' guitar. Suited more to all acoustic band. That's about the only knock on them I can imagine. |

http://www.turkishculture.org/music/...cymbal-285.htm paragraph 4 in the big (II insignia to III?) K ... "Meanwhile in a foundry near Yedikule, Mikael Usta, who had taken up production in the footsteps of Big Kerope, began stamping a large... Oh I love it
because its concentrated looking from the Turkish side; from a Turkish viewpoint; Turkish Culture ~~~~~~~~~~~~ I think it's incredible. the story about the "big K' must be lore in those small towns word of mouth. Certainly the "K" did Change and I believe what that is referring to. ![]() ![]() "Meanwhile in a foundry near Yedikule, Mikael Usta, who had taken up production in the footsteps of Big Kerope, began stamping a large ‘K’ on the cymbals he made in the Great Master’s name." http://www.turkishculture.org/music/...cymbal-285.htm To have that in a Turkish written story I think is incredible Last edited by jda; 06-24-2019 at 07:55 PM. |

whatever soothes ay-
I would tend to think there's other records- a Turkish Cultural could have access to;townspeople; deeds;buildings; whats in there is almost more "folk" like " the hammers were silent in the town:.etc it could but not everything comes from Mehmet Last edited by jda; 06-24-2019 at 09:21 PM. |

![]() Here's one. A type IIIa OS....21" exact. Even though they didn't make 21 incher's, here's one anyway. And no, it's not a cut-down.

That cymbal is really nice to hear. It cuts. If an order for 24" down to 20" came in the door, a 21 will be made.
