I came across an old black kit in standard sizes, very nice...and I was quite shocked at the quality of the shells. Not luuan but a nice clear wood I assume is poplar, and they are very solid. Would these be a Pearl made shell, because they look like it?..As a converted drum snob, I have to say im very impressed.
