Yes really!! :D They are done.

First I'm very sorry about the delays. But with those behind us lets get to it..... First and foremost I need to thank Wayne B and Gary N for sharing these gems with us. And for the scans we cleaned up and used. Without them there would be nothing. So please guys take a bow! Well done. Next my partner John V for kickin azz on the artwork in record time. These would not have come out as nice as they did without Johns help. I think he did a great job keeping the tags original working with the original copy. Not many understand the level of skill that's involved. But I sure do and Johns one of the best. Thank you John~!

Now back when this whole thing started a few members offered to help with the costs involved. I'd like to thank each and every one of you for the kind offers. If anyone is still interested please hit the "green donate" button here at VDF. David and Tommy have really made this the great site it is. And it's sure expensive. So if any VDF members are feelin the love please donate a few bucks to VDF to help site upkeep and expenses. That's all. And it's easy to do.

I'm not sure what kind of interest there will be in these. But if it's just crazy I'd like to ask some help from members outside the US to help distribute these. We can work on this and get things sorted out. I can handle the US members ok. If any members are local to each other maybe I can send those tags to one person. And they can hand them out as needed. We'll see how it goes.

Last this offer is only open to VDF members. I know there are other sites that would be interested. But I can't undertake that task sorry. So if your a lurker it's a good reason to join up here! I should have enough tags to handle all requests. Please only contact me via PM through VDF. Please do not email me through the site. You will go into my spam box. I know space is limited in the PM's but I'll fill orders and clean out the box for more to reply. I'm a bit tired and scatter brained so please excuse any details I might have missed. I've been burning the candle at both ends and the middle lately!

Overall I'm very pleased with the end result. I hope you like them too. It was a lot of work. But it's something I wanted to do. Here's a few bad cell phone pics since we all like pics!! Laughing H

I'll update this thread as needed. Tommy please edit or move to the best spot here as needed.

One last thing....I was trying to have these done for the CT drum show last week. My mistake I sent the wrong file to my design bud at the shop. I went there last Fri night to print them and saw the wrong file. My bad. Would have been fun to hand some out there. Sorry about that!!

As always thanks for playin along!

G.

Edit to add.......... Wayne Brown was kind enough to check out his original tag for the proper gauge wire used to attach them with. Here it is.........

longjohn, i took my original tag with the wire to a hardware store and they said the wire is .24 gauge, pass the word if anyone wants period correct size wire.Thanks.

Wayne

Glenn - The tags came out great! They look just like the originals. It wasn't easy kerning that job, but it is true to the original and it was a fun challenge for me after so many years away from printing. Like riding a bike... it all comes back to you.

Glenn, my camera is fritzing on me so I haven't been able to take shots of the drum for you yet. I'm buying a new battery tomorrow, hopefully I can get the sucker working.

Really nice job on the tags. I know the work that went into it. You're a craftsman.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Kerning! Now, that's a word I haven't heard since my Compugraphic days back in the late 80's and early 90's. My boss sat me down at an Editwriter 7500 to get some hands-on experience. I was sure lost the first time the word "kerning" came up! LOL! Fun times!

These came out great! I think one would look nice hanging on my 1966 7-line Dynasonic. How do I get one? More than happy to help with the cost.

Hi Jack. That's cool thanks. I'll be happy to send extras just let me know a count and PM me the best mailing address to send them too.

John thanks!! These would not look half as good without your help. Restoring the original type was the way to go. No worries on the camera batts. Whenever you can is fine thanks John.

LJ thanks buddy! PM me your address there and I'll send you some for all our Aussie friends.

Kelly thanks! That would be great. Same thing send me a PM and you can be the Canada contact.

Mark just send me a PM (personal message) here with your mailing address. You'll get one in the mail.

Don't be shy now people~! Get them while they last. When they are gone they are gone. Don't miss out. And just to be clear these tags are free for the asking. Just send me a PM with your mailing info. You don't have to donate anything if you just can't. Times are tough I know. The donation is just a suggestion for those who can spare a few extra buckaroonies for VDF.

You don't need to send me anything. But thanks. If you want to do something just donate a few bucks to VDF. Just hit the green "donate" button under the forum header. Send me your mailing address in a PM and qty of tags you'd like. That's it.
