Re: Vintage rare 1928 davey tough cymbal big band dorsey woody herman ufip zildjian?

That's O.K. cool. I was going to say its pretty close to B-19, but that would be silly. In fact downright stupid actually.

I actually don't own the one I posted. As for yours, would you say its likely made of B-20?

Man, this guy's 22" block stamp sure is better than most:

Re: Type IV old K Istanbuls

There's some good color in the sound, but personally I like to hear just a little more "dirt" in my old K's. When I first saw the photo, to me it looked like an 18" instead of a 22" until I read the...

Re: You don't see many of these things around anymore, do you?

You're completely right about that. That one is in a category all by itself.

I like to play it with a few Istanbul K's that I have, but while mixed in with that group I find that from time to time...

Re: I keep going back to Rogers Swivomatic Drums

The set I had was 12", 13", 14" mounted toms, and 16" and 18" floor toms, plus 2 bass drums, 20", and 22", all custom ordered as factory originals. The snare which I didn't get was a 14"X6" matching...

And now here's a surprise. No, it's not a K., and it's not one of Bill Maley's from way back when.

It's this:

Re: Vintage rare 1928 davey tough cymbal big band dorsey woody herman ufip zildjian?

I wish I could actually give you something authoritative about this great unknown, but I can't. I can only surmise that it was made likely in the 1920's by an obscure Turkish manufacturer that has...

You don't see many of these things around anymore, do you?

As a matter of fact, you didn't see many of these things (25"ers) back in the day either.

Re: Old K Alert...Old K Alert.. Man your stations man your stations...

[QUOTE=zenstat;461923]I analyzed price per inch. It isn't the highest dollar per inch sale. That 18" comes in at $96.79 per inch. But there are 26 cymbals with a higher value. These are dominated by...

Re: Old K 20

I would like Wayne Salzmann show the documented source for his upper end value of a 20" on a new stamp selling for $3,299.

Re: Old K 20

By the way I've decided to alter the New Stamp terminology slightly specifically as it pertains to the old vs. new delineation. Instead of older New Stamp and newer New stamp (which to me sounds a...

Re: Old K 20

Then figure its anywhere from late 1960's to about 1977. And that 19-1/2 is pretty typical for 20" K's. They can vary between that up to 19-5/8 approximately.

I have one of the very rare examples...

Re: Old K 20

It's a candidate for a later New stamp. Which means it could be later 1960's or 1970's. Is there any ink under the bell? If so I need to see it.
That's part of the ID process on with new stamps.

Re: Unlabeled Hi hats Compared to Vintage Zildjian..Help Identify

I know. But since we finally reached the point where we degenerated into "stab in the dark" guesses, then I thought I'd come up with mine. My B.S. guess is as good as anybody else's and I'm sticking...

It's fugazi.

Only two problems with that: Zyn would have a trademark. And Zyn was NS12.

Yes I did. And that one was even a thin jazz cymbal; the one and only I've ever seen of of that type. The others in that thread were all orchestral paired heavies. And don't forget there was that...

That's the one and only thin Constantinople K. that I've ever seen or heard of in this lifetime! And he had to pay what would be the typical price for a 22" Istanbul K. new stamp just to get it too. ...
