Re: Looking for feedback on 9 piece Emerald Green Pearl Gretsch Stop Sign Badge Drum

I agree. And I have been thinking about my own collection in this regard, too. I don't have any young, interested relatives to will my drums to...I want whatever I have to end up in some loving...

Re: Looking for feedback on 9 piece Emerald Green Pearl Gretsch Stop Sign Badge Drum

Well, again, every little detail WILL make a difference in value. I don't imagine that it would be easy to find replacements for all these drums....and, if they were replaced, it would be a lot of...

Re: Looking for feedback on 9 piece Emerald Green Pearl Gretsch Stop Sign Badge Drum

Having seen that last picture, I would not split them up into two sets. The rails are positioned for that configuration, alone. Yes, you could make a lefty kit from the one bass drum, but that would...

Re: Looking for feedback on 9 piece Emerald Green Pearl Gretsch Stop Sign Badge Drum

A part of me agrees that the idea of two sets is good for selling....but I have to say that another part of me wants to see those matched drums stay matched. I fear that the day may come when monster...

Re: How I celebrated my 68th birthday!

Two things time has taught me:

1. A slipped disc is like having someone put a vice-grip on your spinal nerve and, after awhile, you start making deals with your creator -even if you're an atheist....

Re: Looking for feedback on 9 piece Emerald Green Pearl Gretsch Stop Sign Badge Drum

Beautiful, MATCHED Gretsch drums! Wow! You don't see many matched-drum kits these days, much less a large kit like that. AND it's a rare and beautiful finish, too! Nice!

If it was a bop kit, it...

Can't say as I've ever played or listened to any of these cymbals. How do they sound?

Re: Welch Tuning System

Even though there is a minimum of attachment points on the shell, there is still a lot of mass, overall. I listened to the drums on a video and they don't sound as if this system has improved any...

Re: Welch Tuning System

I agree. It looks really cool. I imagine that on a snare drum, the tuning effect is going to be less significant than it would be on a tom tom -since the snare mechanism will stop the resonance,...

Re: Anybody Have Experience With Drugan's Drums?

Absolutely! and then some! You sure don't see many transition badge kits like that! Even the rail consolette doesn't look "mashed" from over tightening. That tom mount and others like it can...

Re: Anybody Have Experience With Drugan's Drums?

It might work! There's nothing wrong with hunting for a bargain, if that happens to be what you're after. Who doesn't like getting a good deal, right?

There is another school of thought that...

Re: Anybody Have Experience With Drugan's Drums?

The price of an item is always related to the desire of it...and of course, the ability of a buyer to pay that price. If the desire for that object outweighs the price and the buyer has the ability...

Re: Where to buy 7 tension rods for club date kick?

Wow, that's actually a lot less than I thought they would cost. I'd have guessed 6 dollars or so. Good information! Thanks!

Re: Where to buy 7 tension rods for club date kick?

Yes, they will likely be expensive no matter where you look. You will probably have to bite the bullet and pay the asking price.

Re: Shipping box recommendations for snare drums

I always save any bubble wrap and also those little air bags that people use for shipping stuff. It sure beats the mess of the styrofoam pellets, which can shift around during shipment.

Re: There Comes a Time

You know...being a drummer in the world is a very, VERY rare talent. I did a quick search: "How many drummers are in the world?" The answer was roughly something like 3.5 million. Then I did a search...
