Ludwig Pointy B/O badge from the 80's???

I just got a 24x16 Ludwig kick drum from 80 or 81 according to the serial number, but the badge is pointy. Shouldn't it be a rounded badge? SN is 2019910 if you can't see it in the pic 100827
