Soooooo...

these metal snare shells...are WAAAAAAAAY soft metal.

Took the dents out of the shell where the strainer was over-tightened.

Now the shell's out of round.

And trying to fix...

Soooo...

What I did...

How much Weldwood you use depends on the size of the hole (obviously). Just because it's so handy, go ahead and buy the larger sized stick they sell. You'll likely use it...

I managed to score a 14” gambles snare drum on eBay. It’s....gonna need some work. But, I’m looking forward to bringing this one up to snuff...

Oh...yeah...I'm gonna install re-rings into the drums that don't already have them. The bass drum is starting to lose some of the roundness...and I'm trying to get a handle on it quickly...

Well...on the bass drum they're banged up. And I've sanded them kinda flat.

On the 12" tom they're in decent shape.

I dunno...I almost feel like some conscientiously cut fresh edges might...

Basically, there's more to the story...

Turns out, the only drum that wasn't out of round was the bass drum...I couldn't get the floor tom or...
