Yes, the "bow tie" tension rods are the same as the "faucet" rods. I suppose they do look more like a faucet handle than a bow tie!

Yes, I'd try straight acetone. I suppose some nail polish removers may have more acetone concentration than others. I too have removed the Remo logo from a smooth white Ambassador with nail polish...
