Re: Now THIS guy has some gorgeous K's!

Seems impractical...For all I know you have suffered hearing loss over the years and you might not be able to hear what I (or others) can hear. I would say that it might make more sense if you make a...

Re: Now THIS guy has some gorgeous K's!

He gets a good sound with the equipment he uses. That's what good musicians do.

Let's say you have two drummers and one cymbal and you let each take the cymbal and make a recording with it. One...

Re: Now THIS guy has some gorgeous K's!

Well, that makes sense. I'm not really up on all the old K Zildjian stuff, obviously. My memory isn't what it used to be when it comes to who said what about whom in regards to Spizzichino. I just...

Re: Now THIS guy has some gorgeous K's!

I think Franco dal Monego plays great and I love the sound he gets from the cymbals he uses. It's always the combination of player, instrument and recording. So what's not to like about using...

Re: Now THIS guy has some gorgeous K's!

There must be a lot of guys in Italy (like this guy above) who got access to some really nice K's via Spizzichino. I read that he had some of the best of the best K's that he used to model a few of...

Re: Zildjian K Istanbul 22" Intermediate stamp -- thin

I once came into an opportunity to buy an old K of some era and it sounded gorgeous...but the guy wanted a grand...firm. I said Good Luck! I wish I had bought it, now. But I also wish I had a grand...

Re: 16x16 floor tom to snare drum.

I have used snare wire sets that are shorter (13") on a 14" drum and it didn't sound a lot different to my ear. And I also used the braided strings to attach the snare wires and not the plastic...

Re: Questions about recent selling of vintage drum sets

Well...MY opinion is that you won't add to the collectible value by including the extra drums. The best way to sell is to sell a named, configuration of matching drums and as much of the original (or...

Re: A Zildjian Cie "Vintage" Cymbals from the 2000's

I never priced any Constantinoples. The ones I played seems heavy and clangy so I didn't pursue anything more about them. I seem to remember paying around $450 for my A & Cie. ride...I think the hi...

Re: A Zildjian Cie "Vintage" Cymbals from the 2000's

I knew they'd be discontinued because of how high they were priced. But it did prove that Zildjian COULD still make good sounding cymbals.

Re: A Zildjian Cie "Vintage" Cymbals from the 2000's

Oh yeah, I DO remember that Armand one, now. I had forgotten about it and it was kinda separated in the marketing from the other ones. I only remember that I had become fed up with all the super...

Re: Decent Deal on a Champagne Sparkle Club Date....Ebay

Sure they did. And I don't blame them. In those days, The "Big Four" were in fierce competition with each other (especially Ludwig and Slingerland). It wasn't just a matter of who made "the best"...
