Re: Ludwig 1976 Red-Silver-Blue kit on eBay

With all due respect that is NOT correct. The badges on your drums are black/silver and did not appear until 1970. Please check the badge link. Your badge is the second from the left on the...

Re: Ludwig 1976 Red-Silver-Blue kit on eBay

leedybdp, in the name of accuracy your red, white and blue Slingerlands are from the early 70's not the 60's.

Re: If it weren't for the local pick-up only....

Let us not forget:

"Yeah, there are no wrong prices for things that are no longer made and from an era the likes of which will never return-ever. There is no room with "the" drum guys deciding...

Re: Two estate sale finds

Oddball is correct this time. That order form is for the bass drum. Per the catalog #727 is for spurs attached to shell. #172 is for consolette holder and #590 is for shell mounted cymbal arm...

Re: Slingerland Radio King- is this a good deal?

Agree with the others and as one of our esteemed members here likes to say "condition is everything". That one blurry picture is insufficient to make a judgement. Is that some wrap fade on the...

Re: Two estate sale finds

Nice Slingerland find. Last of the Radio Kings. '55-'56 by the badge and sound king lugs. Snare would be expected to be single ply.

Re: Drums Louie Bellson is Playing

Per Slingerland historian Dr. Carl Wenk the PTS Remo's were briefly offered by Slingerland under the name Oddyessy. Less than a year during '83-'84.

I believe jmcohen is correct. Very little info but there is this.

Re: Slingerland Schooling Needed

Mark your info is correct. Two badge types were used on imports during the HSS period. Black/silver oval without any country of origin and Black/gold with the lone (misleading) U.S.A. on the bottom.

Re: Slingerland Schooling Needed

Made in Taiwan. Seller is mistaken on the year being '84. '84 was still Niles, Illinois. Good quality imports but the market says they are not worth what the seller is asking.

Re: Radio King Mystery?

Yes, sounds like a Concert King. No snare extensions, inward facing strainer slider, gut snares and 3-ply shell. Sort of a Radio King "lite". Engraved hoops are correct per Dr CJ Wenk.

Re: Radio King Mystery?

Hey K.O. got some pictures of yours? 15" diameter is a common Concert King size.

Re: Radio King Mystery?

This is a Concert King model not a Radio King. No snare extensions and inward facing slider on strainer. 3-ply would be expected. '53-'54 by badge and small beaver tail lugs. Hoops are suspect...

Re: Rescued: Aluminum Badge 8 X 14 Radio King

+1 with kdg. The re-wrap, moisture damage, and re-cut edges relegate this drum to "players grade". In an odd way this has some advantages over a pristine original. You, and the grand kids for that...

Not a transition badge. Large keystone-Chicago ~'83-'84 per Rick Gier's book.

Re: 1972 Slingerland 5" x 14" Sound King snare drum

Personally I agree with Mark, but I'm not sure that translates to any appreciable "real world" price difference.

Re: Slingerland, can you id this snare

The badge (Niles-no serial) and the Zoomatic are not conflicting time periods, both were used in '62. The conflict is the Zoomatic on a 6 lug drum. That's a student model drum with the Zoomatic...
