Future collectible drums would probably be the type that are used on important recordings. I highly doubt that ANY boutique builders drums will be worth more in the future than they are worth right...

Looks like a type of surdo (a Brazilian marching bass drum) -Maybe it's a relative of that type of marching bass drum -but maybe from another country?

Well said. Drummers who go beyond that point are doing it for reasons other than efficient technique. Swinging your arms like an ape and slamming the sticks into the drum LOOKS cool to (some)...

OP,

I think it's safe to assume those are all 3-ply shells.....But be aware that SOME of the shells (actually many) from that era were NOT maple/poplar/mahogany....but were, in fact, newer...

Coated Dilomats are what I prefer on my 3-ply Ludwig drums. I also use coated Ambassadors on bass drums and other drums, too, occasionally. For one thing, Ambassadors are readily available in most...
