Re: 1964 Slingerland Gene Krupa Deluxe

Thanks, skins_. Based on those serials something later in the year (Oct. - Dec.) would be expected.

Re: 1964 Slingerland Gene Krupa Deluxe

Very nice. Could you share serial numbers and actual date stamps for BD and snare? Expected serial range is approx. 30xxx - 60xxx.

Re: Old K Alert...Old K Alert.. Man your stations man your stations...

My previous post is not entirely correct. All three bid retractions occurred on July 2nd but the first one was in the morning, by the leading bidder, which effectively put another bidder in the...

Re: Old K Alert...Old K Alert.. Man your stations man your stations...

Looking at the bid retraction summary all three bids were retracted on July 2nd (strange). The sound video was there well before that. The dates you posted are actually original bidding dates. It...

Certainly Slingerland-like, however many inconsistencies including knob and pad.

Re: !!! JP2Creations web site down

How to put this delicately; You may have disregarded your own "golden rule" on these (LOL). Sometimes a project just calls to you though. Anticipating great things here.

Re: !!! JP2Creations web site down

Mark, I believe I saw them on eBay. 2R kit listed as a "Jet", Sep./Oct. '65 date stamps, metal BD hoops, white flecks in the red sparkle?

Listing has "make offer" feature. Give it a go, all they can do is say no.

Re: American Greed-Vintage Drum Parts Edition.......

Hey V, you should re-read the listing. $39.95 is for ONE! Three available, one sold. The one that was sold was purchased at a bargain price of $19.99.

Re: Badge(s) for Leedy drum(s)

Here's a repro. The years of use stated for this badge are incorrect and it appears to be silk-screened rather than etched like the originals. ...

Re: Slingerland Smoky Pearl

I believe that the wrap to shell misalignment visible at the hole drillings is actually a result of some type of wrap shrinkage, hence the cracking and seam separation.

Re: Slingerland Smoky Pearl

Other than the lack of push buttons for the floor tom legs there is nothing unexpected here. How about the BD seams? Also guessing the snare is a 3-ply shell?

Looks to be a Gene Krupa 1N kit. With the additional pictures this does indeed appear to be Smokey Pearl. While not officially available in '64 it is possible that left over wrap could show up on a...

Re: Any info on this Slingerland marching snare?

Tough to tell with all the paint but badge appears to be the looped "S" Chicago black/brass type, '56-'59. The strainer is the second type "Rapid" used '58-'61, so '58 or '59 for your marcher. ...
