I have a '79 Progressive set with the same center placement logo on the BD reso head. Don't see them much, it was short lived, couple of years at most. Always struck me as odd...

Slingerland 13" snare

Looking for a Slingerland 5.5" x 13" snare that was part of the 2-N JOBBING OUTFIT. They were produced between 1955-1962 and I'd prefer a post Beavertail lug model. Please PM me if you can help!

We know you have other Oaklawn's in that size, so do a SBS and let us know if the center lug design sounds any different from the conventional style.

Take off a lug and scrape the inside of one of the holes, I think you'll find that the shell is copper. I've owned two of the 6.5 x 14 version of these drums and liked them both very much.

"Slightly rounded" is a good description, especially if the drum is a mid to later SSB. The 30 degree didn't start until the 80's I believe.

Only the second one of these I've seen and the first in 20/14/12 sizes. I have an orphan 12" tom and it sounds very good!

Birch: aggressive and brighter tone; enhanced lows and highs offer a good balance of tone to crispness.

Mahogany: strong low end makes for a very rich, warm...

When did drum makers begin putting their logos on the BD reso head? I read that Ludwig may have been the first when they saw Ringo's drums with a LUDWIG sticker on his BD.
