Re: Recut Bearing Edges on Valuable Vintage drums?

Recutting the edges can reduce the value by up to 1/3. Choose wisely.

Re: Rogers 6.5" Dynasonic price?

With that serial number, the drum is more likely built in '69. Many times a drum or kit would sit on the shelf in a store for a year or two before being sold.

Looks like a nice drum....

Re: So what's special about this Dyna?

With that rusty hoop and no snare frame, the drum is worth about $100. Makes no sense.

Must have been a shill bidder in there.....

Re: Record Covers with (vintage) Drums on!

Wow, a lot of albums with drums on the cover!

I don't think you guys have seen this one very often....Chapin was an endorser.

Re: Spot the issues with this PowerTone!

Wrong hoops, not sure about the rods. Springless lugs, also the lug screws look aftermarket and not original Rogers for those lugs. And the edges of the tag do like like it was painted inside.
I...

Re: Rogers Mahogany Inner Ply Drums

I have never seen a Rogers shell with mahogany inside. Also, the impressions from the large lug washers show that it is a pre-1968-69 drum, so those Memriloc holes are not correct.

Also, the...

Re: Value of Rogers drum, please

Very nice kit, hard to find a 22" bass in that finish.

With the tom arm and cymbal arm, I think it could bring over $1250.

I have found, in my dealing with European buyers, that the drums are...

Rogers kit for sale - - - Reduced!!!

It's a nice kit in Blue Sparkle. They are Daytons with flat grey interiors, identical to the Cleveland drums from shortly before the CBS buyout in 1966.

I figure these as mid-late 1966, the tail...

Re: Black Friday ROGERS Find! Project!!

I've cleaned kits like that without using any sandpaper. Get Meguiars Headlight Restoring polish at the auto supply store. It's a white liquid and very easy to use. It removes all the yellowing and...

Re: Question on Rogers kit w/ Dynasonic COB snare

The 2 larger toms and the bass are XP8 drums, made from 1979-on, 8 plies of maple, no rerings, no interior paint.
The small tom is from the prior generation, 5 plies, rerings, speckled paint inside....

Re: Rogers Luxor vs. Tower snare - thoughts?

The glossy paint inside the Powertone was to alter the sound. They felt it would be more crisp and bright and help to differentiate it from the Tower a little more than just the strainer and butt...

Re: My 2nd Dynasonic on its way - question regarding rubber end caps

Nice drum.

The screws on the frame look ok to me, and the Pursounds will fit, as you are already aware.

That is the classic 'clockface' strainer. Also known as the 'Permatension' strainer in...

Re: Potential Rogers Purchase

The maple Dynasonic is worth around $2000 by itself. The rest of the kit is worth around $1000 if the wrap etc is original and has no cracks. And there is also the hardware as you said. The Rogers...

Re: 5 ply Rogers Fullerton shells?

Jasper supplied shells to Rogers until 62 or so, then the Keller shells came in as Ploughman said. First 3-ply, then 5-ply, then 3-ply for a little while then 5-ply again and then the XP8 series. As...
