For Sale: 66 Ludwig Jazz Festival

This is THE nicest Jazz Festival that I have ever come across. Collector grade all the way. This is a May 4 66 Ludwig Jazz Festival in vivid White Marine Pearl. This 3 ply beauty is completely...

Re: Production numbers for Ludwig Acrolites?

They made tons of them. That's for sure. These days, lots of sellers seem to get old and desirable confused with rare. It is certainly an overused word.

Re: Ludwig P85 v P86 strainers

I like the P85 better. Plus it would be the correct one for the drum. The P86 is a little fancy and kinda looks out of place on most Acros in my opinion. Still a great throwoff though as long as you...

Re: 1363 Snare stand with stuck basket slide

I have run into quite a few of these. Take a side view and usually you will see the center adjustable bar is tweaked or bent just a bit. You can usually bend it back in place using your hands and the...

Re: Need a little help

Beautiful set of drums. Looks like they have really been taken care of over the years. Sometimes, but not all the time, you can find someone looking for a complete package like yours. Others would...

Re: Removing Adhesive from Bass Drum Head

I've used Goo Gone for this application. Have to let it sit for a bit and keep working it. Try not to let the stuff that is coming off scratch the head as your scrubbing or wiping it. A little time...

Re: 64 Ludwig Downbeats Black Oyster, but which snare?

If catalog correct means anything to you, go with the Downbeat snare. That is what the early to mid 60's Down beat kits were shown with. Later, Ludwig changed that to a Supraphonic. Personally, I...

Re: 70's Ludwig History Help

Yes the shell and interior treatment is that of the very late 60's and early 70's. Badge is the era that you mentioned. Probably an older inventory shell that they had that got assembled at a later...

Love EVERYTHING about that! You did it up right. I've got almost the identical case that I chose to do one with as well. Thanks for the inspiration! Wow..

Re: Wrap Fading 1964 Ludwig

I'd try the Novus 2 and 1 on it and leave it at that. It will give you a nice gloss and lustre and will not harm the wrap in anyway.

Re: Strange seams

I sold a 13" Ludwig WMP tom here on the forum a few years ago. It was a beautiful drum but had the same issue that yours has. The new owner found some of the same wrap and cut it perfectly to...

Re: Ludwig badges

In the early 70's there were some blue olive badge drums with no serials. Have seen them on several drum sets and snares as well.
