I have one with die cast hoops, plays really well. I have had more than a few six luggers and the Gretsch is one of the best, right up there next to a Pioneer I had with a maple interior.

Too bad you can’t see the inside of the drums, Ludwig used a rubber stamp to put the month, day and year on the inside of the shell, that could get you closer to determining how close they were.

Very nice!
That’s what I have been playing for the past couple years.
Same sizes but three orphans, all WFL. My 8x12 can get really low but still full of resonance.
12x22 is the best sounding bass...
