The Gretscherland

It's part Gretsch and part Slingerland, may I present, the Gretscherland!
I was somewhat concerned that someone had put Gretsch hardware on a non-Gretsch shell because the interior is painted white....

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

Ya, that's definitely a better mount, but I wonder why they chose to put it so far over instead of centering it like the CD. Maybe they didn't want to be too much like Ludwig, their biggest...

Slingerland Stage Band

I'm selling this for a friend, Slingerland Stage Band in an aqua sparkle finish. It's missing mufflers and tom arm, but it's in good condition and there are no extra holes.
Thanks

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

They also used big kicks, like 26 or 28, they had no choice but to have tom that far over. That setup looks very uncomfortable.
Try playing a four hour gig on that. The Band

Re: Slingerland/Gretsch

Thanks, those aren't the holes I'm referring too. They are right in front of where the badge would had been.

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

I'm not arguing with you, but if you've never used one, then you have no knowledge of how it works. I've had a kit with that mount and I'm telling you, it's a piece of crap.
Look at this picture,...

Re: Slingerland/Gretsch

So, I worked out a deal for $350 and a Speed King pedal. There are two extra holes on top of the Gretsch kick that have been plugged up, most of the t-tods and claws are not original. The cymbal...

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

Are you not reading what I'm writing? That particular tom mount is set in one position on the kick, you can adjust the tom up or down, but you can't move tom to the the left or right on the kick....

Re: Slingerland/Gretsch

Ya, I've had my share of mutt kits, but at least this one matches and there's a lot more than $400 worth of drums here if I decide to sell them individually.

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

Here's a picture of a Stage Band with a 20" kick, notice how far over the tom is, on a 22 it would be even further over. When I put a tom on a snare stand I can raise the tom a little higher and move...

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

I'm deciding between this one and the Slingerland/Gretsch kit I have another thread on.
The Slingerland/Gretsch is $400 and pieced out is worth quite a bit more than the Stage Band.
In case you...

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

I'm not sure if the mount is there, but the whole thing is pretty useless anyway. It puts the tom too far to the left and doesn't hold, it's very flimsy, I would never use it.

Slingerland/Gretsch

Here's another interesting find, 1965 Slingerland 12,16, rb Gretsch 22 in a champagne sparkle finish. The kick is missing badge, but there are no extra holes and it's not a re-wrap. He's asking $500,...

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

It's definitely a Slingerland Stage Band and yes they did make 10 lug 22" kick drums.

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

I think I got the size wrong, it should be a 12x15 floor tom.

Slingerland Stage Band

I may be picking up another kit, this Stage Band in a blue sparkle finish. Any thoughts on these drums?

Re: Would You Buy This

I took the kit to rehearsal, swapped out all the batter side heads with coated Ambassadors, ditched the 12 for now and just used the 10,14,20. It's a great sounding kit and a lot of fun to play.

Re: Found a really rare but really mangled Leedy Kit today

That is a cool kit, I hope you can restore them because I know how good they sound.
Much respect for those who have the time and patience to restore beat up drums, I have neither.Bowing
