Re: For Sale - English made Rogers Dyna-sonic COB

Beaver tail lugs, not too sure about the rail, looks like modern repro, but I'm no expert. Badge appears glued on, US badge, not the one with the underscore.
Stand by for photos.

Re: For Sale - English made Rogers Dyna-sonic COB

Yep, located in Europe. I thought that would have been implicit seeing that the currency is Euro. :p

Re: 1939 CARLTON 6.5 x 14 BLUE RHAPSODY THE “PRINCE” MODEL

Mike, that is cool! The British stuff is very interesting. I just got an English Rogers Dynasonic the other day. Carlton are very Leedy-esque. They're well made drums. I bet these cost a fortune back...

Re: Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

I can't comment on the US 7 liners as I've never owned one, but I heard they had a thinner shell than the later 5 liner. When I knew I was buying a 7 liner I was expecting a thinner shell. Not the...

Re: Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

It really does sound different to the Dynasonics I've owned in the past. It's just so nice to play and the wires dial in nicely. I'm not hearing any buzzing or rattling and the reso side is in no way...

Re: Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

No way! There a big D on the strainer! I just noticed that! Aw man, that's hip! I love this drum.

Re: Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

You just blew my mind! I had a lacquered brass English Rogers which had beaver tail lugs and now that you mention it it did have the same strainer as this Dynasonic, but the shell was different. This...

Is this normal for a Dynasonic?

Hi all. I just got a very old Rogers Dynasonic. It's the 7 line COB, 5x14. Just wanted to know if it all checks out.
I've included some photos below.
I'm wondering why the badge has no grommet...

14.6/8" Cymbal

I'm not holding out much luck on this thread, but here goes anyway.
I am looking for a cymbal that is 14 and 6/8 of an inch in diameter (don't you just love imperial measurements?!)
It's 14 and 3/4...

Re: which slingerland snare is this

Oh, OK. I think they're called a COW or something. Chrome over wood. I've also heard the term "chrome-o-wood". Might be a decent maple shell? I'm not a fan of chrome wrap. It's like faux metal or...

Re: which slingerland snare is this

Chrome over steel (I think) going by the badge. They used to be the Gene Krupa modelo and they were chrome over brass. That's about all I know.

Re: 14 and 6/8ths of an inch Cymbal???

Thanks for that. I'll look into getting it modify. It's an old CMI UFIP thin Hi Hat. It sounded great before it got cracked.

Re: Bought a cymbal sound unheard--Maybe a Super Zyn?

I've been there. I too have purchased NS12 by mistake. The only reason I'd ever buy a Zyn is by accident or if it were like super cheap. You can get your cash back on those things, so no big deal....

Re: 14 and 6/8ths of an inch Cymbal???

I have another metric sized cymbal that's just over 15". It has and edge crack about 10mm long. (quarter of an inch or so) I just don't know anyone who cuts cymbals down.

Re: 14 and 6/8ths of an inch Cymbal???

Of course I have access to metric measuring tools. I prefer the metric system. I'm from Europe. I don't like the imperial system., But this is how people measure cymbals.
You don't happen to have a...

Well, there you have it, straight from the horse's mouth.
Speaking of large bells, check this thing out! I spotted it on eBay. This thing is 18".
