Re: Premier Mid-70's B303

Update:

So, I've decided on some changes, from when I first posted this thread. There are:

- I'm not going to convert the 14x8 'pancake' tom into a snare. There are some nasty holes that need...

Re: Premier Lokfast Cymbal Stands

Update:

Thanks to Blair for hooking me up with some Lokfast stands (and special thanks to Gunnellett for delivering them), including: hi hat stand, snare stand, and two straight cymbal stands....

Re: This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

A couple more of my MIJ kits. My Baxter in nicely aged WMP, and 'Tiger Pearl' Star sets. I still need to do a thorough cleaning, put on new heads, etc, for both kits. Both will make fun gigging sets....

Re: Anyone heard of Durham drums?

I checked that kit out to Wes. It does look like a re-wrap, which can be ok, but you never know if its done well or not, until you get up close. Asking price is quite high, I think...if it was more...

Re: 1976 Ludwig Hollywood Black Panther

Got mine for $750 CDN, all original, in awesome shape...and no, no CM wrap underneath, I checked. It's been known to happen though, there's a thread over on DFO, with a guy who got one. Good score...

Re: MIJ Wrap Finishes-Let's Rank 'Em-Popular To Rare

Hello again!

I'm enjoying this thread. One of the cool things about MIJ kit's is the varied finishes. Here's another cool, and rare one...I can't recall the proper name for it, so if you know,...

Re: MIJ Wrap Finishes-Let's Rank 'Em-Popular To Rare

Thanks Al, I lucked out. Once I have them fixed up a bit, I'll do some proper pictures, and send to Ralf, for sure.

Cheers, and Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.

Re: MIJ Wrap Finishes-Let's Rank 'Em-Popular To Rare

I just picked up a early 70's (I believe) Star kit, in the cool and rare 'Tiger Pearl' wrap. The kit includes two racks, floor and bass. I traded a Pearl Export snare and a 70's Zildjian 20" ride for...

Do a magnet test yet? If it sticks=steel, if not, then either aluminum or brass, most likely brass.

Re: Premier vintage tension rods needed

Sean's right, Nick is a good source. Some other ideas include:

- Blair Holden, he's on here. Track him down, he has lots of Premier stuff.

- Contract/join Premier drum groups on Facebook, I...

Re: 60's knock off double soul or......?

Could be a Rogers/Japanese made kit. I saw one for sale a while back, was missing the badges, this reminds me of it.

Re: Temptation: Olympic set

Nice set, but no where near that price, imo. I'd go $350.00-max. Sadly, MIE kits are hugely undervalued.

Re: Star/Pearl 5pc with hardware

I don't know man...$350.00 seems a bit steep. They need A LOT of work.

What is the wood? Is it birch or AM? If you ever consider selling it, send me a PM.

Re: Premier Club Made in England

Cool set, but unfortunately vintage Premier's don't carry a big resale value, compared to MIA kits. I recently picked up a 74' Premier African Mahogany B303 kit, including 13x9, 14x8 (rare), 16x15,...

Re: This is the Display Your Premier Drums Thread

Very nice! I'm actually picking up one exactly like that this weekend. Very excited, love the finish.

A couple of weeks ago, I did purchase another 1960's Premier-Olympic 1182, in red sparkle.

Re: Kimberly restoration

Yeah, very cool wrap. The insides of those shells remind me of my 70's B303 Premier African Mahogany shells...which is to say, gorgeous.

Cheers.
