Re: CB700 Watch Lugs

I sent for a swatch from the fabric company you used to recover an 18" CB floor tom in galaxy sparkle. How did you attach it to the shell?

Re: Snare Drum Tuning

I think those notes would vary with the depth and composition of the shell, head type, brand, rim type etc. A "High" tuning on an 8 X 14 will be lower than a 3 X 14. How about...Don Henley's snare=low...

Re: CB700 Watch Lugs

Maybe they borrowed the lug design, but the Tama/Camco joint venture did not last. I have seen a lot of CB 700's from this period, and own some.I hope you have the tom arms...they are hard to come by....

Powder coated hardware stripping

Has anyone here tried stripping powder coated hardware? Recently I have seen some sets for reasonable money but with colored lugs, rims, mounts etc. UUUUUHG-ly....and chipped to boot.

Re: Vintage MIJ Snare Drum ID Help!

I have a shell with hardware like that drum. It has a Crown decal on the wrap.Primitive construction, terrible edges and only one side has that backwards strainer with the mechanism cobbled together.

What type Premiers are these?

These were a trade-in on a set of Yamaha Stage Customs I just sold. They seem to be XPK-like. Very thin shells,no rerings, older style stretch lugs and typical Premier 80's/90's hardware but with odd...

Re: Early/mid 80's PEARL Exports - Type of shell?

The Export bass drum I use on my gigging kit has that same taupe-colored spatter paint. I believe it's just another version of reso-cote or whatever you want to call paint with particles in it to...

Re: Does anyone know what type of drums these are?

The shell wood looks like Luan to me. Can you show the tom mounting system and/or bd spurs.I'm guessing that is a Hoshino set made in Taiwan.

Re: 6 MM cymbal sleeves for older stands

It's the base area I'm looking for. Gibraltar used to sell both 6 and 8 MM sleeves. I am using a Sonor equivalent which is rubber and wearing out. The sleeve I'm looking for doesn't need a washer.

6 MM cymbal sleeves for older stands

I need a source for 6 MM cymbal sleeves, as all I can find is the 8 MM type which are too big for older stands.

Re: Replacing the nylon tube bushing on older cymbal stands

That is a 70's Pearl stand. I buy all those I can find, as they are simple and solid. As far as the nylon bushing is concerned, a machine shop could make one out of nylon rod stock easily. Or check...

Re: Star Drum Experts Help Please

I wonder if we here on the east coast never had access to higher-end Star drums. I spent a lot of time in music stores and all I ever saw was entry level Star drums prior to the switch to Tama. And...
