Re: Dynasonic head suggestions

The Dynasonic was designed to use a Diplomat-weight batter and a Ambassador-weight snare-side head. Naturally, if you feel you might break a Diplomat, you can't go wrong with an Ambassador-weight...

Re: Can't access this website most of the time

I check in multiple times per day and haven't had any issues. How are you accessing the website?

That error message is easily searched for, with lots of returns giving basically the same...

Re: Rogers swivo mounts: How much is too much?

Hi Delorso!

I feel that both amosguy and leedybdp have given excellent answers to your question!

While having multiple Swivo mounts to eliminate various other stands certainly wasn't the norm,...

Re: Never heard or Seen a Ludwig Model 110 from 1971

I looked at the pictures again and can't believe the amount of tension rod splay on the batter side! The use of tube-style lugs requires that tension rods enter nearly straight in, otherwise they...

Re: Never heard or Seen a Ludwig Model 110 from 1971

Kevin!

Thanks for finding that information. I had a feeling that "110" might be from the standard series, but I couldn't find a catalog with those numbers. Well done! Still, why would someone...

Re: Never heard or Seen a Ludwig Model 110 from 1971

As O-Lugs pointed out, the Nickel throw offs were very popular back in the day. Heck, I even used it on a few drums! I'm also thinking the same thing about the label. As to the shell itself, it...

Re: Never heard or Seen a Ludwig Model 110 from 1971

Ken,

Retract your bid...now! I'm having a hard time believing that those knowledgeable with Ludwig can't tell that this is a custom-built drum! The number of bids seems to confirm this!

The...

What?! We have to wait until the Fall of '21?!! I'm not sure I can wait that long!!!

Seriously, though, I'm sure we're all anxious to find out more about the set! Keep us posted.

Re: Rogers Set in Manalapan NJ

Here are some larger pictures for all to see this Headliner in all its WMP glory!! I did notice that the lower extension on the Swivo tom holder is bent...but I can live with that!

Re: Rogers Set in Manalapan NJ

That's just a gorgeous Headliner set! Maybe a road trip is in order? I can fly out there and rent a car to drive back to southern California! Then, again, the weather is pretty lousy across the US...

Re: Oops! Caught by the Glitter of it All

I looked through my eBay pictures and found this 16x16 Dayton-era floor tom. It's an early Dayton, as can be seen by the flat gray interior. All factory washers, although I can see some replacement...

Re: Oops! Caught by the Glitter of it All

Dan,

The star washers didn't occur until the Fullerton era, so those I see on that floor tom seem a bit suspect. Can you tell if there is an outline from round washers? What I've normally seen is...

Re: Oops! Caught by the Glitter of it All

Hi O-Lugs!

Thanks for the kind words! Yes, it really is an excellent Headliner outfit. The bass drum shows with the newer style of BD claws and tension rods from the Dayton era, but I reinstalled...

Hi Dan!

I love Rogers blue sparkle! You're going to love them, too! Here's my 1966 Headliner. All shells have Cleveland labels.

Re: Where have all the Leedys Gone

I also would tend to agree that all Leedy drums, whether original Leedy or SlingerLeedy, seem to be getting more rare! That's why I'm hanging on to my 1965 Frank Capp snare drum, wrapped in original...

You're absolutely right about that! There have been occasions where Jim will go off about politics. I just let him rant and then all is well!! I've been doing business with Jim for over 20 years now...
