Re: Date range on a Gretsch snare

That’s a Gretsch Full Range 10 ply snare. Not a Gretsch USA or vintage but I have one and when tuned up, it’s a nice sounding snare. As K.O. says, it’s the equivalent of a Renown.

Re: Dating Rogers Holiday kit and Dyna-Sonic snare

I've got the same era Cleveland Headliner in Red Onyx and wouldn't take less than $1,400 for the three (though in this market, who knows?). With the Dyna, maybe an additional $200-$300 depending on...

Here’s one. 1971 with clear shells. And as mentioned, they do sound great.

Re: Ludwig silver spakle a ginger ale thing??

Kenwood- Beautiful drums! If it were me, I'd just spin the damaged area to the back and not worry about it. From where anybody else can see, they look great and they match. At the most, I might try...

Re: Thoughts on playing a 13, 16, 20"

I have a '71 Ludwig matched set in the 20/13/16 configuration (pic 1) and have always been happy with how the three drums work together. I really like the 20x14 bass drum as it can be tuned up or...

Re: Who made Crown drums?

Good question! No, they are slightly different. The earlier, original Crowns were smaller and more rounded and the later 8x12 lugs have a flat center ridge.

Re: Who made Crown drums?

Here is my set of Crowns from the early 60's (except the 8x12 tom, which replaced the original that went MIA). Both the 20x14 kick and 14x14 floor tom originally had the triangular Crown logo you...

Re: Rogers Red Onyx

Great deal from what I can see from the lone photo. Someone will be very happy with this beautiful kit. I have the same kit with a 20" kick and it's unbelievably sweet. Good luck with your sale!

Re: Here we go.... Show us your restored/ re-wraped drums

These Round Badges came to me covered in red paint (Aqua Satin Flame underneath). I tried like hell to restore them to their original state but all of the cracks and spiderwebs common to that finish...

I'd be glad to get a 14x14 red onyx floor tom to match and add to my kit. Look forward to the news!
