Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

You're absolutely right about that! There have been occasions where Jim will go off about politics. I just let him rant and then all is well!! I've been doing business with Jim for over 20 years now...

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

Forgot to mention that I spoke with Jim Petty yesterday about my 3 push buttons that I ordered almost 7 months ago. They should be ready by February 1! I get along really well with Jim and don't want...

Re: Slingerland Push Buttons

I have a 1965 Modern Solo 2R set with push-button legs on the floor tom. During the disassembly for restoration, one of the legs got stuck just like the issue the OP is having! As leedybdp points...

Re: Slingerland Spirit Bass Drum Pedal Questions

I think the best you could hope for is to possibly find one on the internet, such as eBay or Reverb, and hope that there might be a picture of the part in question. Could take some time, but you...

Re: Slingerland Spirit Bass Drum Pedal Questions

As thin shell points out, the Spirit line were import drums and hardware, all made in Taiwan. The 1938 pedal design can be found from other off-shore brands. I found a NOS 1938 on eBay...

Re: BR "flat-base" cymbal stand on eBay

Thank you! It's a 1961 "one year wonder"! Really too bad about the very faded wrap, but it's still a cool snare drum!

Re: BR "flat-base" cymbal stand on eBay

slingerfan! Exactly!

For my first drum set, back in 1967, I wanted a Ludwig Super Classic. My grandmother, who was in the music industry, felt it was too expensive and purchased a Lyra 4pc gold...

Re: BR "flat-base" cymbal stand on eBay

Hey jm!

Are you referring to my snare drum? If so, you are correct! It's definitely a tribute...but Slingerland didn't take it that way! I really like my "Radio King Clone", as I don't think I...

Re: BR "flat-base" cymbal stand on eBay

slingerfan! And that is exactly what separates those who don't do their homework with the details! I have to believe that the Japanese didn't design their hardware to deceive, but to emulate the...

Everyone...

It's all in the details and being intimately familiar with everything. When it comes to Slinerland from the 60's and 70's, I feel comfortable knowing that I can't be fooled!

Here...

Re: BR "flat-base" cymbal stand on eBay

Hi Tommyp! Thanks for weighing in on this. As always, your knowledge of everything "Buddy" is incredible!

I'm almost tempted to purchase this stand, because I'd be protected by eBay's "Money Back...

Re: Slingerland Stage Band

Hi MntnMan62!

Let me throw in my :2Cents: here! If you look at many of the Slingerland catalogs from the 60's and early 70's, the Stage Band set was pictured with a 12x15 floor tom! However, the...

Re: Bought a Rogers SuperTen Snare

The SuperTen is a great snare drum! I also had a 1973, but yours is a bit older than mine! The SuperTen can be both loud AND sensitive. I used it only one time on a gig with my custom painted Pearl...

Re: Slingerland Concert King

While Capri Pearl shows up only in the '59 and '60 catalogs, it doesn't mean it still wasn't available. A dealer only had to make a quick call to Slingerland to find out!

I just looked through all...

Re: Cool MIJ Kit

I completely agree this is a well-priced MIJ kit! Whitehall branded drums were made by Pearl. I love the Swivo-style tom holder and I believe the tom mufflers during this time period may still be...
