Re: Slingerland Fade

I'm glad you like them, but I would recover those tubs faster than you can imagine. I couldn't deal with that fading at all, but if you like them, play them in good health for many years. ;)

Re: Any idea what these cymbals are?

Brass. I'm almost 100% certain. Not to be a downer, but I wouldn't expect Zildjian quality.

Re: G.A.M. vintage copper snare - does anyone know how much these are worth?

Anything made by Spizzichino is worth money these days because he passed away a number of years ago. His cymbals are highly prized, mostly by jazz drummers, because they sound similar to the old K....

Re: Revelle 60's 4 pc set

Looks like the Tempro set I just got rid of a while back. Same finish. $29.95 is a bargain.

Re: 1960's Slingerland Sky Blue Pearl 14x20 & 8x12

I wish you had a 16" floor tom in sky blue pearl.

Re: Shipping Vintage drums overseas

I sent a vintage Ludwig 12/14/20 set to Denmark once. All I can say is, I packed it very carefully, telescoped each drum inside another and sent it off via UPS, I think. The buyer agreed to pay all...

Re: orphan drums

Damn! I would have taken that 16" floor tom in a heartbeat.

If the deal falls through, PM me, please.

Re: Zildjian 50ís and 60ís ? Cymbals

May I point out that we have a separate section for cymbals?

Re: Snare collection for sale

Excuse me, but your description should read "right to left." Look at the photo.

Re: Tama pig in a poke

Those guys at GC are on drugs, I think. There are so many cases of them over pricing stuff, it's laughable.

Re: Strange seams

Those riveted seams were perhaps the worst idea that ever emanated from the Ludwig factory.

Re: Head choice

Clear Diplomats on the bottom, clear Emperors on top. Or, if you like Evans, Clear G1s on the bottom, clear or coated G2s on top.

Re: Sold My Remaining Stencil Set Yesterday

Just for the record, I have a MIJ Pearl black diamond pearl snare that I bought for $50 a couple years ago that sounds as good, if not better than anything else I own from the USA. So, I know that...

Re: Sold My Remaining Stencil Set Yesterday

Those Tempros had almost zero shell resonance. They were dead as a door nail, to be honest; almost no ring at all in the toms. I had two stencil sets at one point, and they were both inferior...

Re: Slingerland 9x12 Tom Yellow (Gold) Satin Flame

Player's quality set, unfortunately. The bass drum looks like Swiss cheese with all the holes. A shame about that offshore tom mount.

Re: Slingerland Trade

It's just my personal taste, but I grossly dislike brown wood grain drums. They look like furniture. No thanks. :2Cents:

Sold My Remaining Stencil Set Yesterday

I got rid of my Tempro Red Grain Pearl set yesterday. Sold them to a young guy who wanted to use them for recording. I used them on exactly one gig in the last year, and decided they were taking up...

Re: Back In The Vintage Game... Slingy Style

Chances are, these drums aren't as loud as your modern set because they're smaller sizes, although I do believe they sound warmer than modern drums in some cases. My vintage sets are mostly 13/16/22...

Re: Keyholed Scimitars. What to do???

As stated above, donate them to a school, or better yet, a poor kid who needs cymbals. You'll be helping another human being at a very small cost, as those cymbals are worth practically nothing....

Re: Vintage Kit Lineup.....Lots of vintage kits in this movie clip

I spotted Baker right away in the cap and shades. I thought one of those guys was Phil Seaman. Guess not.

Re: Cool stencil kits on Facebook Marketplace

I liked the blue set until I saw the name Trump on them. I refuse to play anything with that name! Violin
