Yes, have a look at the edges. I'd advice to let cut double 45's, with a minimum contact area. In case of Luan I'd advice to drain the edges with CAglue after cutting and before sanding. I makes them...

Folks, today I bought this for 25 Euro's. It's 15 inch. Wiki sais:
Stambul - their old top-of-the-line cymbals, produced from 1932 to 1965 from NS12 nickel-bronze and later made of CuSn8 bronze....

I've done it with oil paint and a sponge. Yes, it muffles quite a bit, but it sounds warm (calf-like) and looks good. Somehere someday I'll make a nice landscape like back in the days

And not really worth 250. I would not pay more than 120 for it.
Shells are beech or birch, thinwith re-rings. Not very rigid-->difficult to tune, especially with so few lugs.

50's/60's Royal w/matching snare

This is an unque drumset made in Amsterdam in the late 50's or early 60s. The 2-man company Royal mainly produced snaredrums but also made drumsets to special order. This set is birch with COB...

no experience in cutting down.

For as far as I know with solid brass tube lugs the tubes are...
