Re: Happy birthday Ringo

The quintessential and octogenarian drummer from the 60's and beyond! Love that photo too.

Happy 4th

Hope you are all having a little enjoyment on the 4th. We are doing a bit of covert activity with family.

As a related drumming thing, there is a slightly higher activity level in the...

Re: Apollo guys here something you never see promo signs

The perfect coincidence. Two members exchange drum items as their ships pass in the night.

Great stuff.

Re: 60's Rogers Canister Throne

Very nice piece with the carrying case and all. I would have made great use of that when I had a kit that had new red glass glitter. Unfortunately, that would have been about 6 years ago and that...

Re: Rogers Covington

Great outcome in every way. A gracious giver and a grateful receiver. The match is stunningly perfect. Someone is about to have a lot of updated fun.

Re: Leedy Project Begins

Sadly, I never got them under any lights. I didn't play them out even once. Another reason I let them go. I've had just about no action since those days. In daylight, however, they were as classic as...

Re: Leedy Project Begins

Looks like you had a good and successful plan. Still, it's good you left a few items to restore. Bongos look great. Enjoy them!

Re: Rogers Covington

Yeah, if we'd gotten that barn 30-40 years ago it would have been filled with the sounds of a band. Now it will just be little ole me. Still good though.

Re: Leedy Project Begins

PS - Looking at the snare picture, I think that was one the seller had. I don't recognize anything in the background. My recollection is that I purchased it and then shortly after that left the...

Re: Leedy Project Begins

I just took the chance that I might have it on an external drive. Low and behold!

I didn't find a picture of the kit with the matching snare drum with it. A COB Dynasonic appears to be hiding down...

Re: Leedy Project Begins

That would be the case. Do you recall that the bass was a special order with 20 lugs? Awesome kit and the snare drum matched perfectly when it arrived from across the pond. I really dig the brass...

Re: MIJ kit on Ebay

That's it Mark. Even the color is right. The one for $126.85 is the exact one I had in mind. The one for $139.88 is a great deal. That guy was a lefty playing a right-handed kit. I'll bet he'd have...

Re: Old Ludwig’s

The twin seams on the 18" floor tom are the result of the wrap being a standard 24"x54". Unfortunately, the circumference of an 18" floor tom is about 56-1/2" and you need a lap too. So they did 18...

Re: MIJ kit on Ebay

I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who thought shipping had gone nuts. I shipped the last things sometime last summer. Yikes! Way up.

That kit looks like it could have been sold by Montgomery...

Well, you have a leg up on me. I never joined. Funny enough though, my wife tried to join from Jordan. They denied it saying they could not verify her identity despite the fact that she told them...

Re: Leedy Project Begins

That Shelly Manne is a beauty. I've always liked that snare drum. I had one in red satin flame pearl, along with the matching drum set. It's one of the few drum sets and snare drums I ever regretted...

Re: Rogers Covington

No, for now we'll still be imported Floridians. The farm is just a means to be prepared as the crazies multiply. They might not be able to find us.

But yes, the distance for playing the drums...

Re: !!! JP2Creations web site down

I've purchased the long 14x14 Rogers floor tom legs from Jim - 21" as I recall. The chrome work is outstanding. Nice pieces all around. Glad to hear he's doing OK.

Mark - You might be the only...

Re: Rogers Covington

I have one Rogers set left. In fact, just one drum set left. I chose it for being a Rogers and for price - $1200 delivered. Great price point for a small 20, 12, 14 kit. It's probably a '66 or maybe...

Re: Rogers Covington

I don't have a problem bringing the Rogers name back and updating the hardware while retaining the look of the lugs and so forth. They are still identifiable. How they sound would be pretty...
