Re: Beat up old 12 x 26 bass drum

Thanks Hoppy. Interesting then that there are two dates inside the shell; 3806 and 3901..maybe it just took six months to finish it! No other marks, labels, stickers or badges, unfortunately...

Beat up old 12 x 26 bass drum

Father in law snagged this for me at an antique shop that was closing down. I know nothing about it other than it had been in there for ages. It's in really rough shape, there's a roughly 4" x 1.5"...

Shorter Microsensitive for Gretsch 4 x 14

Happy New Year all,
The last piece I need for my Max Roach snare is a microsensitive release. I read that the reproductions are too tall for the 4" shell, so I'm trying to locate the shorter style....

Re: Gretsch Max Roach bottom snare hoop question

Thanks Guys! I'll stick with the low-profile slotted hoop then. Also, do you know if the Micro-Sensitive reproductions will work with the 4 x 14?

Gretsch Max Roach bottom snare hoop question

Hi Gang,

I'm looking for a bottom hoop for my Max Roach snare. The one that is on it is a top hoop that someone drilled holes in to accommodate snare strings (I know...what?). I've seen some...

Re: Gorgeous 1954 (?) Gretsch BroadKaster with bizarre bearing edges

Thanks! I am pleased, and I know they're going to a good home. I'm looking forward to handing the money over to my friend who owned them; she's very happy and this will help her out a lot with her...

Re: Gorgeous 1954 (?) Gretsch BroadKaster with bizarre bearing edges

Thanks Gary. I listened to a lot of advice regarding how to do this listing on eBay. I decided that since all of the stands weren't original Gretsch, that I would sell the hardware separately....

This stand was with a Gretsch kit I'm (FINALLY!) about to list on eBay. I'm selling the hardware separately and wanted to know if any of you could provide a clue as to its origin...It would be cool...

Odd little cymbal thing...

Hello again, Everyone!
This little unit was attached to the cymbal (the 18" Zildjian trans-stamp I inquired about earlier) and I have no idea who makes it or when it was made. Has anyone seen one of...

Re: Question about Zildjians with my vintage Gretsch kit

Thanks again! I guess what I meant to ask is, what does the trans-stamp denote? I mean...does it date the cymbal to a certain period? They're obviously more desirable than non-trans-stampers...but...

Re: Question about Zildjians with my vintage Gretsch kit

Thanks Jaye,
Thanks for your reply. I'll find a scale that measures in grams and weigh them before listing. If you don't mind my asking, what is the definition of a trans-stamp?
Cheers,
Rick

Gorgeous 1954 (?) Gretsch BroadKaster with bizarre bearing edges

Hello All,
I believe I have a mid 50's BroadKaster kit in Midnight Blue (I think!): 4x14 snare (Max Roach?), 12" tom, 14" floor, 20" kick. The shells are three ply with no paper labels inside. The...
