Good find! Pearl Exports......great drums. I have a set from the late 90s with the three piece long lugs, a dark stain that shows the wood grain and natural maple bass hoops. I put Pinstripe heads on...

Those shells look "spun" to me...the bead looks like it's rolled in...not milled. My guess is that whoever wrote up the specs got confused on the process.

I have a 13x3 Dixon maple piccolo in a natural finish that has the round lugs that I bought used from a now closed local music store.
The previous owner had changed the strainer to one from a Pearl...

Nice looking snare!

I have Ludwig Pioneer snare dated Sep. 26, 1960...little "newer" than yours. It has the transition badge, NOB hoops..top and bottom, nickel plated lugs, strainer and butt...

Are the badges black and white or maybe black and silver? The Ludwig Standards had black and silver badges, shaped like a triangle with the bottom point round.

I have a 1975 COB Dynasonic that I use to gig with and never have to tweak the drum other than a minor turn on the strainer knob. I have Remo Diplomat heads top...

Still doesn't explain why a magnet won't stick at all to an Acrolite shell.....mine anyway. It's been told it's the same shell as the Supra less chrome and two lugs.....on this forum and others.

I took a fridge magnet and it stuck lightly to both my 68 Supra and 68 Supersensitive. It did not stick at all to my 75 Dyanasonic COB.......and....it did not stick at all to my 70's Acrolite...

Maybe install a small hose clamp around the leg under the clip...sort of a memory lock?

I have a 1960 Pioneer in a mahogany finish that is a transition drum. All nickel plated hardware.....WFL strainer and butt plate.......complete with original bottom snare head!...
