Re: Older guys

Re: Ludwig 1970s double tom mount question

The bolt is most likely stripped as well as the casting. If you can get the bolt out, you can always repair the threads in the casting with a thread insert such as a Heli-coil. Then install a new...

Re: 1964/1965 Ludwig set in white wrap?

Why in the world would someone do that? I mean, if you spent the money on the new WMP wrap, then why when you were re-wrapping them would you put the wrap on inside out?? Why not just buy white...

Re: Snare Stand Identification

Probably not a whole lot, but someone with a Pearl kit from that era that wants period correct hardware for said kit would be the target audience for that stand. If you don't have a lot of $$...

Re: Older guys

I myself took a long break from playing, the vintage hobby and this here forum.....I've recently stated playing a bit again, and chiming in here from time to time again, but not much into the vintage...

Re: Snare Stand Identification

That's a Pearl S-700 snare stand, made from 1982-1987. It was slightly changed in 1988 and renamed the S-750 and carried on for a few more years. That one is definitely pre-1988 though.

Re: Joe Morello tribute kit

The Band

Seconded....but with that said, Joe could sound like that with any drum he played.....all the good players do that, right BEC? ;)

Joe played DW in his later years as we all know, and...

Re: What's wrong with this CL ad? :)

Late 70's 6-ply kit......nice shape, but not worth the asking price.

Re: Joe Morello tribute kit

Yes that's the one purported to be THE ONE. Bowing Note how it's either an oversized 20" or an undersized 21".....its somewhere in between, which I bet means it was a non-standard, un-cataloged...

Re: Joe Morello tribute kit

The "new" Avedis line of A Zildjians would be about the right sound you would want to replicate Joe's sound from the "Time Out" era. He used A's then and they were not only large, but on the thin...

Re: 1964/1965 Ludwig set in white wrap?

Ok, so what you've got there are in fact Ludwig drums, but they have been re-wrapped. The wrap is NOT original, despite what the guy that you got them from told you. You can tell by the fact that the...

Re: Need Help identifying ludwig black panther set?

The 18" Zildjian medium crash, the splash and the hi-hats are worth something, should be an easy sell. The Paiste/Ludwig has some demand, but they are not great cymbals....more of a collectors piece,...

Re: Generic Ludwig Keystone Badges

There used to be a guy on ebay selling reproductions, but I believe that he has stopped due to a "cease & desist" order from Ludwig themselves, since they do own the copyright to the design and still...

Re: stereo help needed- ext spkrs

Adding a preamp will do NOTHING for you. What you are hearing as output is already from a preamp. The problem you have is that you have no power amp. Sounds like what you need is a pair of powered...

They already do that......its called "Antique Marine Pearl" or "Antique White Pearl" depending on the manufacturer......personally I never cared for that aged white pearl......real or otherwise. WMP ...
