Re: Lido Supreme...just a Lido with sour cream?

Thanks gantro!

Re: Lido Supreme...just a Lido with sour cream?

As a teacher this pandemic has the silver lining of giving me time at home to complete some projects that have been on the side-burner.

Thanks to the nice folks at Drum Factory Direct, and...

Re: Drum collection

I second the sentiment on the Red White and Blue kit...super cool!
There is a local (sometimes) band called Drummer that is made up of mostly drummers from other local bands. Patrick Carney of the...

Re: Joseph Zigaboo Modeliste

That was Dr. John with the intro to that one right? I’m sad he’s gone. Loved the Meters, especially the Jungle Man song...first time hearing them. What kind of kit was he playing? Loved the white...

Re: Price shaming

Good points made by all!
This reminds me of a thread I started a while back about a tangentially related topic.
My observation was that some sellers may be “chumming the water” (so to speak) with...

Re: Ludwig B/O COW kit pricing help needed.

Thanks for the input Jaghog.
Hoppy, I purposely kept my number to myself so it would not influence other’s opinions. If my number is way off of the estimates I get from VDF members, then I will...

Ludwig B/O COW kit pricing help needed.

Happy Hollidays everyone! Hopefully this post finds you resting up from yesterday’s airing of grievances and feats of strength. I know I am a little sore from being pinned (again) by my 80 year old...

Re: 1967 Ludwig Super Sensitive Restoration

I just got back a re-chromed 1965 Supra. It was a longer process than expected, but the wait turned out to be well worth it. I sent it to a local shop (Abel Metals in Cleveland) that had never done a...

Re: 1971 Ludwig Set Has Arrived!

One way to deal with the wrap edge lift is to cut very thin strips of two sided tape, the heavy duty 3M kind, and tuck them beneath the lifting edge carefully with tweezers. It will keep the problem...

Re: Need lug identification help

I don’t think that it’s a Star 924 lug. I have polished two full kits worth of those. Maybe a Trixon?

Re: Riddle me THIS....

Here is my $.02 ...

I think that the vintage guitar market is different in several ways...

1. It is easier to pin down the rarity of guitars, the factory stats make it pretty clear how many of...

Re: Ludwig hoop repair SOS

They make metal clips with grip material on them that slip over the hoop where the bass drum pedal attaches to prevent clamp damage to the wooden hoop. Possibly you could use one to bridge the...

Re: Fixing Faded Sparkle Finishes

I have heard of people using markers to rehab faded psych red and citrus mod wraps. I have used the silver metallic Sharpie markers to disguise some dark spots on chrome hardware here and there. It...

Re: Let's see your drum room!!

The best name for a drum room ever...The Drumgeon! VDF member J!m has trademarked it though, so you can always call it your beat laboratory like the movie Step Brothers.

Re: Cleaning Red Sparkle Wrap

Jimmy,
Most of the guys here recommend Novus plastic products...they come in several levels of abrasive. I have also used an automotive product called PlastX by Meguire’s I think.

Re: Rogers Mardi Gras that got away.
