Re: White Ludwig Vistalite drum value

Did Ludwig make white Vistalites? It doesn't look any different than White Cortex to me.

Are you able to verify they are Vistalite shells?

I'm not sure about the floor tom. I'm not up on...

Re: Cleaning up bearing edges

I find that 220 grit really smoothes out bearing edges and cleans them up, but doesn't alter them as far as angle or cut.

I haven't used anything coarser. I also have never done it on "good"...

Re: Is this an "Official" Slingerland part?

Thanks leedy. That's a great story. However, I still need an answer to my initial question.

Do any Slingerland fans know for sure if that part is correct or not?

Thanks.

Is this an "Official" Slingerland part?

Hey everyone,

Quick (and probably dumb) question:

Is the first photo attached an "official" Slingerland middle section for a flat base cymbal stand?

I have several Slingerland flat base...

Re: Tama/Camco Pedal

What's wrong with the old ones?

Re: Vintage Ludwig Stand Rivets

In the past I've used small screws with stop/lock nuts (the ones with the nylon insert) with nylon washers/bushings in between to avoid metal to metal contact (after drilling out the original rivets,...

Re: Price shaming

This is an interesting thread!

I've noticed this trend too. I think a lot of stems from people wanting things for as cheap as possible.

I listed some drum stuff on Craigslist recently (even...

Re: Removing rust stains from white interior of vintage Ludwig

I would just lightly clean those spots and then just leave them as is. Personally, I would just get new, slightly larger washers to cover up the rust spots.

Re: Ordered "No Brand" hi-hats for $33?

The one on the right (in picture 2) looks like it could be a cheapie brass. The wide lathing concerns me a bit (especially on the bell), plus it looks just tarnished enough to possibly be confused...
