Re: Rogers Swivo matic bass drum pedal

Call Dave Drewniak at Al Drew Music in Rhode Island. (401) 769-3552
They have new old stock leather straps. They bought out the remaining Rogers parts inventory when Rogers went bankrupt.

Re: Paint stripping over a wrap

I got 2 coats of paint off shells using lacquer thinner, but that was on lacquer finish, not a wrap. You can try denatured alcohol first if you want to try something milder.

I bought a plastic...

Re: 70ís Rogers Butcher Block

You don't need to replace the collets unless they are cracked, which happens from being over tightened. Judging the overall condition of the kit based on the pics you posted, I'd say those are...

Nice! How'd you get the wrap to look so shiny?

Re: Thursday's dumb question of the day-Rogers

Short answer = yes.
The wing nut goes on the audience side and therefore the flat side of the T post also faces front.

The short arm (with the socket) goes in the T, while the longer arm (with...

Re: Cutting a bass drum head

Exactly - You're never going to be able to replace that head, so why cut it?

The Rogers logos are widely available, so use whatever head you like on the drum but preserve the original head.

Re: Rogers Mojave Red

Mojave red is lacquer finish, not a wrap. Those should have natural wood interiors, not grey trunk paint. They should be 5-ply with reinforcing rings if they are '77's. It's pretty rare finish I...

Re: Rogers Powertone Red Onyx Pearl Wrap

I had success filling in cracks with a piece of wrap from Precision. I did an etching of the crack on a piece of paper then transferred that to the wrap. It took a long time to shave the piece to...

Re: Rogers Swivo pedals magazine ads?

There are some manuals over on the Rogers Owners Forum (http://brogersownersforum.runboard.com/t3117)
Not sure if you need to be logged in to see them.
There's also a Rogers Drums group on Facebook...

Re: Rogers Swivo pedals magazine ads?

I've shared the manual on a couple of Rogers sites as well but I'd be interested in a the patent drawing if you have a high res version.

Re: New rogers dyno-matic pedal

Rob - My only points of comparison are the 45 yr old Rogers pedal in the pics and a couple DW5000s.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well built it feels, especially for a sub-$100 pedal. I've only...

Re: New rogers dyno-matic pedal

I don't know why they didn't open up the slots on the new Rogers pedal. Seems like the hollows will become dirt collection spots to me.

I bought one of the Tama pedals. It's immediately familiar...

Re: Cleaning Cymbals?

I use Barkeepers Friend. (https://www.barkeepersfriend.com/)
I find it easier to clean them in the bathtub. I just put an old towel in the tub to keep from scratching it.
It will take the logos...

Re: Script vs. Big R badge

If it's got swivo leg brackets it's an early Big R model, 75-76.
Same shell as your kit.
I think your plan is a good one. Check pics to make sure you put the script badge on in the right location...

Re: Asking for pricing opinions ofr Rogers 5pc Londoner BBlock

A 9/72-era 20" BD is pretty rare regardless of the wrap. That might increase the value of the kit a bit. Londoner V would have come with a 22".

The history/provenance adds value to the collector. ...

Re: new Flat Base Hardware. Who has experience?

Thanks for that info! I've been looking at them too and cheapest price I saw was $53. Guess it's time for a road trip to Dale's!
