Re: New Bearings for Foot Pedal

Check out McMaster-Carr, if they don't have it you probably don't need it.
I'm not sure what type of bearings your pedal has, and you may have to take a few measurements, but you should be able to...

Re: Ludwig 3-Ply concerns-Shell Shock??

I have a set that is mixed with 3 and 6 ply drums. The 3-ply portion is essentially your Bonham configuration, which I later added to with a 12", 13" and another 26" drum. I didn't know when I...

Re: Is this drum out of round?? Ludwig Coliseum

Good catch on this. I didn't see it on the first pass. The cord should absolutely pass through the "gate" and not in between the rim and head. With that, it's easy to understand why there is a...

Re: Is this drum out of round?? Ludwig Coliseum

Not having hi-res pics makes it difficult to accurately diagnose what's going on with that drum.

But if you're really interested in that particular one and have physical access to it, the I would...

Re: Help! Is this a Ludwig Coliseum?

A little strange, but it might not have been placed properly in the drilling jig. My Coliseum and others that I've seen are centered. However, errors can happen as not all work is done by drum...

Re: Help! Is this a Ludwig Coliseum?

Yes that is a Coliseum. They were first presented in the 1980 snare, but not the main product catalog (so not really a true 70's snare - although there is some potential that there was production in...

Re: Craviotto Nickel Over Brass #2/5 Black Diamond Snare - $6000 shipped

Not to pile on, but I was surprised at the price tag too... especially so as Adrian Kirchler is still crafting fine instruments!

Re: Question regarding 26 bass drum

I don't think your offer is unreasonable.
Hoops can have a wide price range depending on condition and quality (new/used - pristine/poor) - $50-150. I don't think you'd have much of a problem...

Re: Question regarding 26 bass drum

These have been sustaining their value, especially considering when the "B" word is attached... Also, it does have a hoop "mod" that I would assume was put there to accommodate a larger pedal base...

Re: Ludwig B/O COW kit pricing help needed.

Spread that holiday cheer!! Nothing wrong with giving a good deal to someone that is really interested in the kit...

Look at the upside to having a "fish on the hook," you get some (or, all/more)...

Re: Ludwig B/O COW kit pricing help needed.

Fair enough!

Two things stand out at me as a lower value, although the 12"/13"/22" seem pretty standard combo, pairing it with the 18" doesn't seem to be the best/most popular choice in floor toms...

Re: Ludwig B/O COW kit pricing help needed.

It's probably a bit easy to get a barometer on the price if you stated what number you do have in mind.

JHB and the Richie Ring???

I was trying, but couldn't seem to locate that old thread... I think it was mostly about the tuning of Bonham's kit, but I recall there was some discussion and belief that Bonham used a device...

Re: Maybe off-topic - mufflers on modern drum?

If you want to reduce some of the floor tom sustain, do the ole' leg trick.
Simply invert or turn your FT legs upside down so the straight part is in contact with the floor. This allows more...

Re: A new pedal for gigs

I'm assuming you're looking at the dual chained Tama 900 and DW AD4, both of these pedals are very similar design wise, each having a few subtle differences (which I'm sure you've looked at...

Re: Rogers Top Hat Drum Set

Nice acquisition... Kit looks great!

After seeing that ad showing the MSRP price for that kit at $635, I ran it through an inflation calculator to see what the equivalent price for that 1966 kit...
