Re: Is this Buddy on Mardi Gras?

Looked to me to be like it could be a Mardi Gras set. I also wondered if it could have been an English built kit? Love the way the hi hat shaft totally failed under his playing. Pre memory lock...

Re: Early Dynasonic

Thanks for all the comments. I remember buying this about 10-15 years ago. Just couldn’t pass up that flat sided dyna from a time when Rogers was first taking off. They weren’t even making their...

Early Dynasonic

With all the talk about the new repro Dynasonics out there, thought I would post one of the first dynas. Flat sided COB shell (Gretsch?) with a paper tag - pre dyna badge.). No tone control.

Re: Vintage 20s Mystery Ludwig Snare

Mike and Oddball, thanks! It does sound like earlier versions were engraved. Oddball’s is a different font, but then so were BB’s. Plausible guess re the initials. But, they are engraved as...

Re: Vintage 20s Mystery Ludwig Snare

Thanks Mike! I am glad to have that catalog page! Yes 8 lug. Are you saying that the earlier versions had the engraved logo vs the stamped logo?

Vintage 20s Mystery Ludwig Snare

I have owned this drum for about 20 years, and never really looked into what it might be.

It is a basic 5x14 Ludwig and Ludwig heavy nickel over brass two piece shell “Standard” snare. However,...

Re: Completed Set-up!

Beautiful kit! Congratulations. I have one of those Rogers Azco cymbals (18crash) and it would rival any old K in darkness and warmth.

Re: Show us your cool Frankenstein kits

I used a jellybean Frankenkit in the late 90’s for numerous gigs. It had a 14x22 aqua blue sparkle WFL bass, the &x12 was a red sparkle Clev Rogers, the 14x14 FT was a gold Clev Rogers, and the...

Re: 8x15 Rogers Dynasonic on ebay

Seller’s description is very accurate. I would have nothing to add. I remember when that drum surfaced. I always thought it was interesting that they used center lugs on the 8x15 Dyna, but the...

Re: Fair Price on a Rogers Holiday?

$800?! Save up another $200-$400 and go buy a no excuses kit. You will spend that in getting this kit up to shape, but never get your investment out of the kit if you sell it. The kit needs at...

Re: What is this?

I have seen that before but can’t remember the details. Looks to be a concert tom where you can get different pitches. Good luck finding heads!

Re: Rogers Buddy Rich Drums

I agree that the extra mount on the top center panel was probably added later. Someone may not have liked the position of the original. Rogers 24" bass drums are extremely rare from the Dayton era...

Re: Need help: Rogers Set

If you want a Rogers kit and have $1600 to spend, that is the wrong kit. I would go for a nice no excuses Clev era kit, and you will probably spend less.
