Re: Ludwig stainless B/O kit "barn find"

Re: 70's Supraphonic. What am I missing here?...

There’s no way that’s shipping from Georgia. That’s a dealer based in Asia. Just read the item description; it’s not written by a native English speaker. A lot of times the dealers based in Asia list...

Re: In your opinion why did Bonham start playing vistalites?

Agreed, which is why he never used the Vistalites in the studio. Although he might have used the stainless kit...

Re: In your opinion why did Bonham start playing vistalites?

He only used them live, from 1973-1975. I believe it was because they sounded huge and were trendy and eye-catching. I'm sure Ludwig suggested he use them.

Re: What is YOUR Top 10 Drummer's List of All Time

Before reading this thread again I decided to make my own top 10. I ended up stopping at five and it's the exact same list I originally made two and a half years ago. That's consistency!

Re: Price check on Rogers Holiday

Great insight, Mark. However, the shipping is not a joke! Music Go Round stands firm on their shipping quotes in my experience and what I've heard from others. That said, it's still hard to...

Re: Ludwig Vintage Drums

Don't wanna start a panic, but if I remember correctly I saw this kit posted somewhere else and there are quite a few problems with it not evident in these pictures. The consensus was the asking...

Re: Original or rewrap??

I think it's original. The reissue oyster wraps don't look that good. The abalone doesn't stand out in the new stuff. As long as it's really the drum in the photos I think you're good (those low...

Re: Black or Blue Oyster Pearl?

This isn’t from the Craigslist ad in New York claiming to have an OBP Jazz Fest for $1, is it? Your Imgur link no longer works but it looked a lot like that photo from what I remember.

The drum...

Ludwig Project Shells/Orphans

Looking for 3-ply project shells/orphans. White or clear interior only. Hardware and finish unimportant, shells will be re-wrapped. No ply damage/structural damage. Do not want a Club Date 12.

Re: Wrap Fading 1964 Ludwig

Man, genuine first generation oyster black is absolutely magical. I never get tired of seeing it. I still remember looking at this photo below and being completely enamored with the finish as a kid....

Re: Weird A$$ Question

It's common to develop cysts at the base of your tailbone that only present when they're irritated. You might look into that.

Re: Ludwig snare wires

My early '80s Acrolite also has plastic ends. My early '70s Supra has the metal ends, but not like Rob's. There's only two holes on each end on mine.

Re: Purdie and The Beatles

Purdie is a liar. Whether hes demented is immaterial because he was telling the lie before he got old and lost his mind.

Re: Ludwig Standard Student Kit

You're right about the aluminum shell being the same as an Acrolite shell without the bead, but the wood shell Standards are the same shell as a Jazz Fest, so they go for quite a bit more as plenty...

Re: Decisions Decisions

I believe that 12x8 has classic lugs on it. The gap between the top and bottom lugs is too small. It should look like the drum on the left. If that's the case there will be anywhere from 12 to 24...
