Re: Rogers Mardi Gras Holiday

That is the classic finish for Rogers drums. You have to wonder why it was discontinued so early in the running. Steve Maxwell has brought back a close replica and uses it on both Gretsch and DW...

Re: This is the Display Your Rogers Drums Thread

I really like that blue ripple Ploughman. Also, Oldschool's kit is very interesting as it appears to be a Top Hat set built for a left-handed drummer with the 8x12 built to mount on the right side of...

Re: Swivomatic Pedal

Thanks for that response PowerTone.

I'm attaching a couple of photos. In these photos you will see that the heel piece is tied to the front of the pedal with a rod that has a loop at the rear....

Swivomatic Pedal

I had an interesting inquiry recently concerning the construction of the Rogers Swivomatic pedals. The question pertained to the cast aluminum base portion. This inquirer asked if mine had a hole all...

Re: Rogers Red Onyx Drums

Cool kit and great price for a player grade set-up. I like those sizes. I eventually found them very practical for the gigs where you get a mic at the snare/hats and one at the bass. With the smaller...

Re: Ludwig or Rogers.

Quick question. I notice that the BB in the video has cast hoops. I had one from that era a long time ago. I don't recall cast hoops. I'm pretty sure it had COS hoops. What have you folks seen?

Re: Ludwig or Rogers.

Wow Ploughman, that part about the pig farm and the race horse is salient. Lots of linkage on the Super. It's like the twin carbs on a British sport car. Almost never synchronized.

Re: Hal Blaine!

That is correct. Campbell was in. He died last year at 81 or so. He also was quite a bit younger that Blaine. I remain amazed at Blaine's age.

Re: Hal Blaine!

Interesting you should say he "gets around" because he was on that tune too.

Re: RIP Hal Blaine

Sad news. I had no idea he had reached that age. I thought he wasn't too much north of Brian Wilson - maybe 5 years or so. Wide impact in the music industry.

For anyone who might be looking to get into a nice vintage kit at a reasonable price, this one on Reverb (link below) looks pretty good. You might be able to get it down a bit since it indicates an...

Never ceases to amaze me John! And I'm not sure which part amazes more. The fact of having 80 to measure or the fact that you might actually check them all. Clapping Happy2

Rogers Drums "In Round" Tolerances

Does anyone happen to know the tolerances for "in round" that Rogers applied to manufacturing their drums? This would be for the 5-ply Keller shells used in the mid-to-late 60's and the 14" diameter...

Re: Rogers Price Check

Nice drums. Check to see if they are first gen beavertails because the screw boss is kind of weak on those. As long as the are on solidly at the moment, they probably won't give you any trouble.

Re: 1968 Rogers Red Onyx

That is classical gas! Very nice to have a matching original Dynasonic too. '68 is my favorite year for Rogers drums.

Re: Browsing Reverb; navigation question

I think what you have is an attempt by Reverb to drive increased sales. They call it bumping. You pay additional $$ to bump your item into greater circulation. That's probably why you see some items...
