The steel stick repair fix on B&B lugs is pretty solid. Mine have almost 4 years under constant tension with no changes or further cracking. I think they guy who came up with this fix has close to 10...

Yes that could very well be. But it confirms Mikes explanation that some are faded. Still collecting facts and info. Like you said it'll likely take some time.

Mike I think your right on the faded ink. This label was posted on FB. Brown ink faded to green. I've never seen ink fade like this. But here it is!

I think it's more like no one really knows the answer yet? Almost 50 years ago since these were made. We'll have to give it some time and see if anyone else adds something. In the meantime enjoy...

Mike I'd price those a bit higher at $2000. Given the fact bare hands never touched them and how well they were cared for. You just don't see these drums like that anymore. Most are pitted and rusted.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this. The stuff I use is called Bio Breakdown. It's a citrus based adhesive remover. Tested on a piece of 50's Gretsch wrap. I put a rag over it to keep the glue...

Hi Michael. Few years ago I was working on a project that would remove paint from drum wraps easily. Some worked some didn't. But my original concoction did remove old glue from a 50's Gretsch WMP...
