Re: SoCal Treasure

Those drums are so beautiful. A 3000 mile road trip doesn't seem too far. Is that a "stingray" finish? Sizes?

Re: Original WMP bought new at plant

I'd be interested in one of the bass drums if you decide to break it up. It does make a couple really nice kits.

Re: 1959 Ludwig (Transition Badges) Kit & Ludwig B/O early 70s Super Sensitve

Hey Brother. I can't believe the Ludwigs didn't sell yet as great as they sound. Hope somebody grabs 'em before I sell something to pick them up.

Re: 70's Ludwig Vistalite restoration

Beautiful job!
Instead of looking for matching floor toms, I'd look for some red or blue to mix it up a bit and still match. Plus it wouldn't be so "candy cane-ish". Still cool drums.

Re: Purdie Shuffle info

Yes. I talked to him yesterday and he said they were giving him some stuff to make everyday chores easier and kicking him loose today. I'm sure he'll be checking in here soon.

Re: Ludwig Club Date

I love the new club dates. Dale's in Harrisburg usually has 5 or 6 sets and recently had a sweet set with mahogany shells. (no financial interest btw) Supposed to be very limited due to keeping good...

Purdie Shuffle info

Just thought I'd post this to let any interested parties know how he's doing.

I talked to John (Purdie Shuffle) a few times in the last week and he's currently in a physical re-hab facility....

Re: Acrylic shell - drilling?

As stated it's VERY easy to crack/ruin a piece if caution is not used. Follow advice already posted and (I would) search "drilling acrylics"). Likely a few utube videos showing technique. Good Luck.

Re: Gretsch 4105 6 lug aluminum questions

Never had an issue with them and I doubt that you would hear a big difference with say 20 wires once a Bass and a guitar or 2 start playing.

Re: Gretsch 4105 6 lug aluminum questions

I got a 4108 8 lug a few years ago on local CL. Sounded so good that I bought another (stop sign badge) a couple yrs later from a guy on Reverb. Both came with original 40 wire snares. Down side is...

Re: Ludwig Franken Kit - advice

Keep your kit as is. If anybody remarks about it tell them you chose the WMP due to its superior tone compared to the original blue sky pearl.

Re: Rebuild/restore pedals, throw-offs, etc etc...

I too will vouch for the quality of work Mr. Fulton does on Speed Kings. He's done three of them for me and I'm still waiting for the first one to start chirping.

Might be in touch again, I...

Re: Two Turn Table's and a Microphone

Only 2 but very nice kits. Reminds me of the poor shmoe that only has 2 cars; a '63 Vette and a '65 Shelby Cobra.

Re: Rack tom choke issue

I don't have half the experience that most of you guys have but when my 16"FT rang louder and longer than my 13" RT I thought bigger drum = bigger sound. I had Emperors or G2's for both batters. I...
