Beware Of This Reverb Buyer: Mickey P.

I got an offer on my 22" Zildjian K Custom ride last Thursday, 10/31. I accepted Mickey P's offer. Two days pass, and no payment. Now it's Monday and I'm afraid I've been screwed, so I called Reverb,...

Re: "Best" Sounding Heads For MIJ Kits

Jim, I don't want to say, "I told you so," but well...I told you so! LoLoLoLo

At some point, give Evans UV-1s a try on your toms. I'm getting great results with them.

Wine Red or Blue Ripple

Does anyone market Wine Red or Blue Ripple wraps? Wine Red would be a viable choice for my old Slingerlands that remain in unrestored condition.

Russo Music in Asbury Park, NJ had a Blue Ripple...

Not interested in the drums, but is that Slingerland banner for sale too?

BTW, is picture #4 the inverted Tommy Lee set?

Re: 30s pioneer at auction

Not really a showpiece, IMO. It's funky and in need of some TLC, but it could be a showpiece with some work.

Re: Mod Orange bass drum or shell

I know there's the thrill of the hunt and finding original examples, but if it was me, I'd just buy a old beater Ludwig set and recover them in new Mod Orange wrap, of which, there's plenty out...

Re: Camco natural maple

Of course, it was too high. You used a UPS Store to pack it. They're obscenely expensive.

Re: What's the "weirdest" drum you've ever seen?

Here's the ice drumset from Sweden. They don't sound half bad either.

Re: Aaaaahhhhhahahahahahaah...WIPEOUT!

I copied Mel's version also back in the day. It blew the original version away. Mel's son is the drummer in The Ventures now, and he's also a great drummer.

Re: What's the "weirdest" drum you've ever seen?

I remember these things, Mark. They were completely dumb looking. As I said, drummers, regardless of their age, want conventional looking drums for the most part. Anything too out there will fail....

Re: What's the "weirdest" drum you've ever seen?

North, Migirian, Staccato, Arbiter, Peavey, Trixon, Leedy & Ludwig oddball tuning mechanisms...all strange and all a big flop. Drummers are generally conservative and like drums that look "normal."...

Re: WTB: Ludwig 16" Floor Tom Burgundy Sparkle

I appreciate the tip, but I scrolled the Austin Marketplace for about twenty minutes looking for that drum. Either it's gone, or I never found it. Could you send a link? Thanks.

Re: How much for this Torodor MIJ Kit?

I'd say $400 is possible and $375 is probably very realistic. Start at $500 and see what happens. You might find someone who falls in love with them immediately.

Re: Leedy Drums 2

My problem is space and the lack thereof. $625 is very tempting!

Re: Another High Priced Vintage Kit For Sale

I didn't, but that's OK! Since this turned into a baseball thread, I did a few gigs on Cape Cod years ago, and everywhere we went, there were signs in restaurants and bumper stickers on cars spewing...
