Re: Zildjian gong

I had one of those in the late 70’s early 80’s and it looked cool on stage but the sound wasn’t great. Later I picked up a Paiste 20” gong and that thing sounded incredible.
Actually still have the...

Re: This is the Display Your Walberg & Auge Drums Thread

Another one I just picked up.
I believe maybe 1959 OBP.
Came with bongos to boot.
Snare has special ordered Radio King strainer by original owner.

Re: This is the Display Your Walberg & Auge Drums Thread

Here is one for you.
The Revival kit #1-5 natural satin and gold.
They were known for the 16 x 14 floor and the double hoop inlays on some kits.
I am thinking 60’s when RGB started making them...

Re: This is the Display Your Walberg & Auge Drums Thread

Not sure of the plys but they usually were known to use Jasper / Gretsch shells.
Which for that era the drum was made probably 3-ply.
They did use their own shells also so not a given , could be...

Re: This is the Display Your Walberg & Auge Drums Thread

Peoniam, They are very high quality drums and are worth what you want to pay for them.
All I know is you probably won't find another like it because they seem to use what ever they had at the time...

Re: Walberg and Auge wrap

I actually just looked up in the Ludwig catalog no OBP in 57 cat. but shows up in 60's cat.
So can probably say it was out in 59.
Is Ludwig the only drum company that had OBP?

VintageSnareDrumsNJ, that looks like a newer version, I do believe they reissued one recently in the Black coated if I am not mistaken.

Re: Walberg and Auge wrap

Definitely not a re-wrap.
The interior is the black interiors usually associated with George (RGB's father) so no dates. RGB seemed to start putting dates on the drums when he made them with the...

Walberg and Auge wrap

What do you guys make of this wrap?
It looks to be on a late 50ís W & A kit.
OBP comes to mind but seems to have a lot more black than usual.
Opinions welcome.

Andlours is right, 1984 right before they moved to Monroe.

Re: 1920 Leedy Elite Engraved Snare

Hi Michael,
I would of like to get a glimpse of that one also.
I have a 4x14 white elite.
I did end up buying a super nice Mahogany W&A snare from Jeremy at the show.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Ludwig 75th anniversary (84) kit. Looking to sell

K.O. you are right probably doesn't add to the value. I was using the anniversary more as a description and time period of the set. They do sound great and I know people are turned off...

Usually the cases I have are square.
They will fit in square type but not the one shown.
Not known if Ludwig makes a case, mine are not Ludwig.

Re: Ludwig Franken Kit - advice

I would also not touch the WMP.
as long as you like the sound out of it in the studio I would look into maybe someone wanting a WMP tom and they have a SBP to trade.
or it might be easier to find a...
