Re: What type of snare is this?

I will look for original parts just for the heck of it. I have no plans to resell this though, so I don't really want to spend big $$ just to have a players snare. I do want it to look and sound it's...

Re: What type of snare is this?

Well, I just tried out of curiosity and the magnet did stick to it. COB would be nice, but I know a little about these snares. My friend has an 80's 14x6.5, and I use it when I can on gigs. It's the...

Re: What kind of Ludwig is this?

I did buy it. Got it for $40 cad. Has Ludwig p85 throw, and ludwig butt. Certainly needs some TLC, but everything else is there, and solid. I searched through the Tama catalogs, and I believe this to...

Re: What type of snare is this?

I wish I knew. Going to look at it later today. I have no other info on it, and the person listed it as a ludwig drum, so I doubt they know much about it either.

What type of snare is this?

Hey folks. I listed this in the vintage drum section because of the ludwig strainer, but it looks more like it might be a pearl stencil snare. Any ideas of make or year?

What kind of Ludwig is this?

Hey folks. This snare just came up on our local kijiji. I'm having trouble indentifying it. I think it might just be a bascic steel snare, but I don't know. Any info would be greatly appreciated,...

How have you made out with your search. What year are your silvertones? I also have a 70's set which I love to play and gig with regularily. Here are some pics of the kit as I got it. Got it from a...

Re: 9 ply luan shells

I may as well chime in. I smoothed the edges on my Silvertones, but I didn't reshape any, and lightly sanded the interiors, but didn't treat them in any other way. Our band plays mostly classic rock...

Hey Wayne. PM'd you with the info I have on those. Why didn't I buy it? I was very close to pulling the trigger on those. They were in great shape for the age. I guess it came down to what I really...

I see what happens when I don't check out the forum for a while. I missed the discussion on all these beautiful kits. I use my sivertones to gig with, and I will sing the praises of these kits to the...

Re: Vintage Yamaha find

Personally, I like that finish better than mine. Wow, 750. Well, my intention is not to re-sell, but it's nice to know that I didn't over pay. Still haven't decided about the hoops yet.Hmmmm

Re: Vintage Yamaha find

Fayray - I truly love the look of a natural finish hoop, however, your black hoops look fantastic. Making me second guess myself. I already have some claws that match the ones on the matching finish...

Re: Vintage Yamaha find

Well, here they are. Got them for $300. They have some obvious issues. Very dusty, and some obvious pitting, but they should clean up nicely. I gave them a preliminary cleaning with windex, and...
