Curing the squeak take it to a whole different level. Iíve found a solution in using hard nylon bearings. But itís labor intensive. Itís also worth it.

Oh, and I don’t worry about being really careful where I direct the heat. The pot metal expands faster the the steel bearing caps and around the hoop clamp.
The chrome cross piece also expands...

The JB Weld is super strong.
On some of the press-fit parts with the splined shaft, sometimes a whack with a rubber mallet is enough to hold it, too.

The Zoomatic looks great! Nice to find one...

The exterior shell has been cleaned and three layers of wax applied. The interior has two. Oats of beeswax.
