Re: 1971 Ludwig Set Has Arrived!

All you need is a fulcrum and mechanical advantage. If you could hold them in a vise (or preferably between 2 points held in a vise), and slip a round tube over the end of the leg with the leg slid...

Re: 1971 Ludwig... opinions?

Re: Buddy Rich Slingerlands thread UPDATE

Re: Buddy Rich Slingerlands thread UPDATE

Oh the FERVOR! I love it. Thanks you to all of the commenters and to TommyP for the edifying conversation that we had. I wish I had the original heads among other things...being young and stupid was...

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

So no better resolution on your screen? I don't mean to be a noodge, just curious.
Who is this Tommy P and does he have a Bat Signal?

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

Also, I found this other screen grab from a different part of the show, you can see the Slingerland badge on the FT in this picture.
In that first picture I posted of him playing, it looks as though...

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

It's an excellent question, one I posed myself to Donn Bennett. A possibility, perhaps, is that a BD was needed stat and that was all that was available from Slingerland short notice? I don't know....

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

Please ask away, there are no stupid questions when it comes to a 50 year old drum set.
How it was explained to me (from this tech/friend of Krupa's) was that if BR was to get a bass drum that had...

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

I apologise for the wording, discussing the minutiae of drum sets publicly is new to me and I am not familiar with all of the nomenclature.... kind of like going on a gun site and calling a magazine...

Re: 1968 Buddy Rich Played Slingerlands

In these situations, clarity and word choice are of the essence.
What "stand"? There has been no mention of a stand covering anything up to now. I assume you are talking about the the FT...
